Corron Mission Statement:
From the Principal:
Squeeze a Lemon
One of the strategies that we are teaching students this year is “Squeeze a Lemon”. For children who express their anger or frustration by balling up their fists, this can be a great tension reliever. Here is a description if you want to try it with your child at home.
Pretend you are squeezing a lemon with your left hand. Squeeze it hard. Try to squeeze all the juice out. Feel the tightness in your hand and arm as you squeeze. Now drop the lemon and relax. See how much better your hand and arm feel when they are relaxed. Repeat with your right hand.

From Student Council:
Kick-a-thon Fundraiser- On Friday, September 27th the Corron Student Council will be sponsoring Pajama Day. Drill team members from both high schools raise money each year to support the American Cancer Society, The Living Well Cancer Center in Geneva and Fox Valley Food for Health. The fundraising culminates with a Kick-a-thon during the East High School football game on October 4th. So wear your PJ’s and bring $1 to support this worthwhile cause! We will collect donations before school in the front foyer on September 27th!
From the Reading Specialist:
Corron received several new resources for teachers to use for guided reading and intervention instruction. We are excited for students to get their hands on these interesting, fun, and engaging books! In order to make this happen as quickly as possibly, we are looking for parent volunteers who would be willing to stamp, sticker, and organize these new materials. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lauren Kelly lauren.kelly@d303.org. Thank you!
From the Art Teacher:
ARTSONIA is our online student Art portfolio! As our creative hardworking artists complete work it will be added to their portfolio and you will get an alert, so you can open the app and see their creation!
If you already have an account you are set! If you haven’t ever set up an account
please be on the lookout, in your student’s backpack, for their Artsonia access permission slip. This slip contains the unique code for your student and the directions for setting up their Artsonia account. Once you have followed the directions you will be able to see your student’s artwork and share it with family and friends.About us:
