On behalf of RMS, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Sallie A. Hunt Foundation and our dear Ms. Sallie for the generous donation of tennis shoes to our school community. Her support means a lot to us, and it will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. These donations will ensure that our students have proper footwear, enabling them to fully participate and thrive in their activities in and out of the classroom.
We truly appreciate her generosity and commitment to education. Thank you once again for your invaluable contribution to our school

🚌 Transportation
**********************
Bike safety is essential for all cyclists, whether you're riding for fun, fitness, or commuting. Here are vital tips to ensure a safe biking experience; please remind your child about this:
- Wear a Helmet: Always wear a properly fitted helmet to protect your head in case of an accident. It can reduce the risk of serious injury by up to 85%.
- Use Proper Gear: Wear bright, reflective clothing to make yourself visible, especially in low-light conditions. Equip your bike with lights and reflectors for added visibility.
- Follow Traffic Rules: Bicycles are considered vehicles, so follow the same rules. Ride with traffic, obey stop signs and lights, and signal your turns.
- Stay Alert: Look for road hazards like potholes, gravel, or debris, and be aware of parked cars to avoid "dooring" accidents when a car door suddenly opens in front of you.
- Be Predictable: Ride in a straight line, avoid sudden swerves, and use hand signals to communicate with drivers and pedestrians.
- Check Your Bike: Before heading out, inspect your bike to ensure the tires are properly inflated, the brakes work, and the chain is in good condition.
By following these safety tips, you can enjoy your ride while reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
NO Cell Phones Policy
As part of our dual obligation to educate students and ensure their safety when at school, Vista Unified has updated its cell phone policies for the 2024-25 school year. Elementary and middle school students will be prohibited from using personal electronic devices, such as cell phones and smart watches, while on school campus. Students in grades TK-8th grade will be required to turn off all personal devices and store them away in their backpacks while on campus.
Parent Square
ParentSquare is a communication platform designed to bridge the gap between schools and families. It serves as a centralized hub for parents, teachers, and administrators to effortlessly exchange messages, share important updates, and collaborate on various aspects of a student's educational journey. With features such as announcements, event scheduling, volunteer sign-ups, and more, ParentSquare streamlines communication, fosters parent engagement, and enhances the overall school experience for everyone involved.

PAWS of the Month
Integrity is the quality of being honest and maintaining high moral standards. One easy way to define integrity is to think of it as “being good, even when nobody else is watching.”
