Dear Graebner Families,
Our next PTO meeting is October 10. Please join us in the media center at 6pm to learn more about fun events coming up at Graebner and how you can help or learn more about what our PTO does for the whole community here at our school. We are starting off October with a Spirit Week to support our feeder HS Henry Ford II. They are having their homecoming this weekend on Oct 6, and it is 70's theme. HFII is also having an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 7 for their 50th Birthday. You are all invited to attend.
Our first Graebner Gatherings is this month, and I know the students are all looking forward to it. Another event that is this month and that is Halloween. Please read the extra section below to read more about Halloween at Graebner and costume expectations. We will have our annual parade, weather cooperating, and of course our PTO Annual Trunk or Treat which will held in our school parking lot on Friday evening, October 27th.
Hope to see you there!

November we will be focusing on friendship and making friendship bracelets.
Word for October - RESPONSIBILITY
Halloween
Parade: Graebner students will be part of an outdoor parade that will begin around 10:30 am. Classrooms will exit the building through the front of the building, walk around the building and then back to their classrooms.
Parents/Guardians may come to watch the parade from the outside, leaving enough space for students to safely walk around the building.
The parade will begin with our Kindergarten and work our way through all the grades/classrooms.
There will be NO early dismissals this day through the office. With the number of parents/students moving outside there is not enough time to gather students after they finish their parade. Parents are welcome to remain on the grounds for a parent pick-up and sign their child out using the classroom sign-out sheet. Each teacher will have a sign-out sheet at their classroom door.
In the event of rain, students will parade inside the building, so all classes can see each other, however, parents will not be able to come into the building.
There will be limited space in the Graebner parking lot. Please be respectful of each other during this busy event. Please park in a marked spot in the parent lot (do not park on the curb where busses park) or park in the sub and walk over.
Costumes: Students may wear their School Appropriate costume to Graebner on Tuesday, October 31st. School Appropriate means nothing overly scary, no blood/gore, and no weapons (even if it is part of the costume).

We can wear them for assemblies, spirit weeks, field day and any other opportunity that presents itself.

Student Arrival and Dismissal
- All students are expected to use the crossing guard when crossing Saal Road.
- For Everyone's' Safety- please use the crosswalks when crossing the parking lot. Hold onto young children's hands so they are kept safe.
- When using curbside drop off in the morning, please remain in your car as your child gets out on the curb side of your car. There is a 3 car length space ahead of where the busses park that you can "drop and go".
- When parking your car and walking to meet your student, please use sidewalks and crosswalks. It is unsafe to cross the lot and go in between busses.
Thank you to our families for keeping everyone's safety first in our parking lot. We will continue to monitor and keep things moving for you.
Door #2 Opens at 8:00am for students wanting breakfast.
First bell rings at 8:15 and students are let into the building
Second bell rings at 8:25
