Update on Morning Bus Incident
September 17, 2024
Dear Fremont Families,
We want to express our sincere gratitude to our Transportation Department and their continued commitment to safety. Earlier this morning, we communicated briefly about an accident at Erhart Rd. and Fremont Center Rd. We wanted to share more information with you concerning the outcome.
No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.
The accident involved two vehicles and one of our buses.
No one involved in the accident suffered life-threatening injuries.
Our bus was stopped at the time of impact. Another vehicle caused the accident with our bus and another vehicle.
Our bus driver remained calm throughout the event and quickly alerted the district’s dispatcher of the accident.
We immediately had administrators on-site to support our driver and cooperate with first responders as they assessed the situation.
Our substitute drivers were able to act fast and pick up this bus’s morning routes. We appreciate the swift action taken by our Transportation Department.
Thank you to our families directly impacted by this accident and for your patience as we managed the situation.
Sincerely,
Trisha Kocanda, Ed.D.
