MTC Jr Fall 2023 Monday Class
Cinderella Jr
WEEK OF SHOW
Cast Bios
Class November 13
Notes from Ms Shelley
We are getting close to the finish line!
Today, as we ran the show from the beginning, we were blessed with a visit from Mr Benny, our new instructor for Camera Acting and Filmmaking classes. Mr Benny would stop throughout scenes to offer advice and acting techniques to the students. He spoke to the students about their expression in words and physically. We really appreciate Mr Benny working with the students yesterday and are excited that our students had this opportunity to learn from him!
For the next two classes, there will be some costume fittings during class. Students do not need to wear anything special, just the MTC tshirt and pants/shorts as usual.
On Monday December 4, students will have fittings with costumes during rehearsal at the Citizens Center. Ms Shelley may need to do additional fittings during the week.
It is important for all students to wear proper underclothes for all rehearsals during this week and during all of the shows. This allows students to change costumes easily during the show.
FOR GIRLS: Girls must have either a pink, tan or light colored leotard or bathing suit turned inside out. Some opt for white bike shorts and white tank top and that is acceptable as well.
FOR BOYS: Boys must wear thin basketball shorts and a white tank top for costume fitting and for the show, underneath their costumes.
If you have any questions about this information, please email us!
Thank you for a great rehearsal! We will see you next week!
Students should have all dialogue and music memorized for the entire show!

Junior Families: support the MTC Senior companies by attending one of their productions of Elf the Musical!
Ticket Pick up
If you have purchased tickets for the December shows online, they are available to pick up anytime at the front desk.
To help with time, we can have them pre-pulled for you at Theater pick up time. Just let us know by drop off time (4:30) that you would like to pick up your tickets that day, and we will have them pulled and labeled for you at the desk at 6:30 when you return to pick up. You can email, call or stop by at drop off to let us know the names you need to pick up tickets for.
Any tickets not picked up at the desk, will be kept at will call until the shows and can be picked up at the will call table.
IMPORTANT: Spring 2024 Registration
Closed Registration
Next Monday, November 20, starts Closed Registration for the Spring 2024 Theater Companies. When you registered in the fall, you are automatically registered for the whole year, so the majority of you have nothing you need to do during Closed Registration. You can check the front desk anytime to ensure your registration is complete.
If you specifically asked to only register for Fall, then you DO need to register for the Spring semester during Closed Registration. If you wish to change your Theater group, you can do so during Closed Registration, spots permitting. Both registrations and changes can be made at the front desk during this time.
If you are a junior member who turned 11 during the fall semester (or turn 11 by January 30th), you have the option to stay in junior one more semester or switch to senior for the spring. If you wish to switch to senior, please make sure you see the front desk in order to make this change. Senior groups are Tuesdays 4:30-6:30pm or 6:30-8:30pm
If you need to withdraw from Spring semester, it would be a huge help if you can do so during Closed Registration so we know what spots are available for the public on December 1st. We already have people inquiring about the upcoming semester. You can do this at the front desk or on the website (Change of Information Form).
Show dates for the spring are:
May 10-11 for Junior, “Finding Nemo”
May 17-18 for Senior, “Anastasia”

- If you have not created a log in, or can't find the original email from weeks ago, email the school and we will resend your login information.
Once logged in, go to the left menu and click "Online Resources".
In Online Resources, click on "Shared Space".
In Shared Space, click on "Fall 2023 Theater Companies".
Then click on "Junior Theater Company: Cinderella"
In this folder you will see Music with Words and Music Without Words for your child to practice.
If you use the Student Portal and sync your calendar, it will automatically load classes and week of show dates/times to your calendar.
Help Your Child Practice the Dances...
- If you have a Smart TV, download the YouTube app from your TV's app store, and Sign in to your Youtube account.
- Search for Masterworks School of the Arts (you can subscribe to the Channel) and click on the MTCjr Youtube playlist.
- Click on the PLUS sign (see the picture below) and you will save the playlist in your account.
- Once you have the playlist saved, the practice videos will be available on your TV.
- This is even better than practicing with the videos on a computer, laptop, tablet or phone!

- Black shorts or pants (length should be at least mid-thigh for shorts, no soffe/volleyball shorts or "mini" skorts please)
- MTC t-shirt provided by Masterworks.

- Tennis shoes or dance shoes on during class. Please no sandals, slip-ons or boots as they will be doing dance each week.
- If a student comes to class out of MTC attire, they will have to sit out until proper attire is provided.
