Director's Corner

Dear St. Peter’s ECDC Families,

We have some exciting things that have happened at ECDC I would love to share with you. In January, we began having weekly chapel. The 3’s, Pre-K and TK are enjoying the weekly lessons. For the month of February, the theme of the lessons is “Wheels on the Bus”, reminding us that is Jesus was driving a bus, everyone would be welcome. Jesus loves all of us! Our bible verse this month is “Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” – John 15:12

Another exciting update is about the door handle locks on all the interior and exterior classroom doors throughout the school. They have been updated to automatically stay locked and can only be unlocked with a key in them, which will increase safety throughout the school building. Thank you to the Parent Council for helping make this happen.

This month, the teachers will be attending the Early Childhood Methodist Conference on Thursday and Friday, February 6-7. The school is closed on the 6th. This is a wonderful conference where early childhood educators across the area meet at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church to fellowship and learn with other educators. I look forward to our teaching team attending and getting to apply all that we learn in the ECDC classrooms.

Celebrating January Milestones

Dad's Appreciation Days

In January ECDC celebrated the incredible fathers who fill our students lives with love, laughter, and wisdom for Dad's Appreciation Days. We got to take a moment to honor all the hard work and dedication they put in every day with a sweet treat. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Dad's Appreciation Day and created a special moment with your children! We hope you enjoyed it as much as the children did.

Pajama Day

We had Pajama Days at ECDC this past month! Students and teachers alike traded their usual school attire for comfy PJs, making the hallways look like a lazy Sunday morning in the best possible way. From flannel jammies to superhero-themed onesies, everyone brought their own unique flair to the event. It was heartwarming to see friends come together, laughing in their favorite sleepwear. Pajama Day was not just an opportunity to dress down; it reminded us of the importance of comfort, relaxation, and community. We can’t wait to do it again!

University of Houston | School of Nursing

We are excited to announce that our friendly nursing students visited our ECDC classrooms for the first time this year! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about health and wellness in a fun and engaging way. The nursing students will be available to answer questions, provide health tips, and promote good hygiene practice with engaging mini lessons in each class. Our nursing students will be visiting ECDC almost every Wednesday until April. Be sure to check in with your child on what they're learning in this exciting opportunity we get to have!
