Decatur community,
Twas the week of Finals
And all through the town,
The students were studying questions
Like “adverb or noun?”.
The excitement of a break
Only three sleeps away,
Dominates the minds
Of us each every day.
But there's one final moment,
An opportunity to show,
Everything that you’ve learned,
Everything that you know.
Parents and students,
I encourage, do your best,
Put all that you’ve got
Into one Final test.
I know the end
Is only three days away,
But finish it strong,
The Red Devil Way!
SHOUTOUTS
Shoutout to senior Addison Mathews for making the All-State KMEA Mixed Honor Choir!!! Here's a quote from Ms. Johnson:
"This is a tremendous Honor, and very difficult to accomplish. This will be Addison's 3rd year participating! She will rehearse and perform in Wichita Kansas on Saturday, February 24th at the Century II Convention Hall. "
Shoutout to several wrestlers on their performances this past weekend.
Cambridge:
Senior Reid Fort - 2nd Place
Senior Lukas Zodrow - Champion
Junior Garrett - Emigh - Champion
Sophomore Kyra Sowers - Champion
Freshman Shayla Kisner - 3rd Place
McCook:
Sophomore Kyra Sowers - 2nd Place
Freshman Skylar Hawkins - 2nd Place
McCook JV:
Freshman Wyatt Coryell - Champion
Freshman Cowen Anderson - Champion
Shoutout to a killer paper airplane created by freshman Grant Anderson. Made in Mr. Marshall's art class, and dubbed "The Anderson" after its creator, the colossal paper airplane is possibly the first paper airplane that I have ever heard of that had a title. Though its flight wasn't exactly what we had hoped for, the hype and anticipation was real. It now rests, appropriately, in Mrs. Anderson's classroom, a hanging relic and story to be told.
Shoutout to a home opener. This Tuesday both ends Finals and brings our first home high school basketball game of the season. We host Oakley, and both teams are playing exciting basketball. It should be a fun night with a lot of festive cheer throughout the event.

- At the teacher’s discretion, a student may stay after school in the afternoon on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of Finals’ week to take early finals or finals that they that they may have missed on Monday or Tuesday.
- Any Final that you do not complete during Finals’ week will be a zero unless you make it up on Tuesday, January 2nd. The Finals will be taken with the teacher or in a supervised testing room.
Any Final that is not completed will result in a zero and will count toward the final semester grade for that class.
