Christmas 2024
Happy Christmas!
Dear Parents,
As we wrap up another delightful term at school, it’s time to welcome Christmas with open arms—and perhaps a little sigh of relief! It’s been a busy few weeks, and with all the coughs and colds going around, I hope everyone is on the mend and ready to enjoy a joyful Christmas next week.
This term has been brimming with wonderful events! The Class Dojo app has been alight with fun activities and exciting learning experiences. From Nativities to Singalongs, carol singing for charity and carol concerts, our talented students have truly shone over the past week, wowing us with their performances while building their confidence year on year. Thank you for your incredible support—your involvement means the world to your children and to us, and it makes such a difference to their school experience.
As a gentle reminder, we’ll be closing tomorrow at midday and we’ll see you all back on Monday, 6 January, refreshed and ready for the new year ahead.
A heartfelt thank you for all the beautiful cards and thoughtful gifts—they are so appreciated, and your kindness never goes unnoticed.
On behalf of the Governing Body, staff and myself, we wish you and your family a very happy and Blessed Christmas filled with joy, love, and plenty of festive spirit.

Becoming an academy
Last week, the Governing Body completed their consultation with stakeholders, many thanks to the parents who replied to our Google Form and the parents who came along to the presentation. We have now formally requested, from the Department for Education, a change in status from voluntary-aided to academy. We anticipate that this will happen on 1 September 2025, we have lots of time to prepare with the Directors of the Trust and the Interim CEO, Ged Fitzpatrick, for a smooth and successful transition. We are fully involving Sutton Local Authority and will continue to work with our local schools, many of whom are already academies.
We will keep in touch with you on our progress.
Christmas Fair - A big thank you!
What an absolutely marvellous day we had at the Christmas Fair! A heartfelt and enormous thank you to our incredible PTA for their impeccable organisation and to all the wonderful volunteers whose hard work made this event such a resounding success. It’s truly heartwarming to see our community come together for occasions like this, creating such a joyful and festive atmosphere.
We have raised a tremendous amount, for which many thanks.
Carol Concert
Thank you to our lovely Choir for their beautiful singing during the Carol Concert last night, it marked the end to a lovely week of Advent performances.

Celebrating our international identities
Apologies, I forgot to send the Google Form out to gather this data, we will do it in the New Year, I know that everyone is very busy at the moment, I won't add to your tasks and we would like to get a high return rate!
New phone system when we return from Christmas
With the analogue phone network becoming obsolete over the coming year we have needed to upgrade our school phone system across the site. The biggest change you will notice, when you call, is that we have a new phone menu.
I am very grateful to Jayden and Julka who are the new voices of our phone menu. They were very professional in the recording, speaking beautifully clearly and only needed a few retakes! Thanks to Niamh, Ludo and Daniel for their help in installing all the new phones around the school at lunchtime today, it saved us a lot of work on Monday!
We hope that the new system will make it easier for the childcare club to manage the gate system at the start and end of the school, for the first time we now have CCTV, phones and gates all on the one network. It has taken a lot of planning and preparation, we are very grateful to Mr Fowler, our Premises Manager and resident IT expert who has managed the switchover.
