Strategic Plan Focus
#LeadersLeaRN: Westchester Engineering and Science Fair (WESEF) - The Regeneron Westchester Engineering and Science Fair encourages students to participate in hands-on science by providing a forum for showcasing outstanding research undertaken by high school students in Westchester and Putnam counties. We need volunteer judges to help evaluate the projects on March 15th. Please see details here.
#PanthersImpact: The Student Senate has been working since before school let out last June on adding events that cultivate spirit and community to the school year. The first big event, the Senate Volleyball Tournament, took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week. More than 60 students on 12 teams participated! Thank you to Don Chuy's Restaurant for supplying the prizes! 1st and 2nd place teams pictured below. See tournament pics here.
Highlights of the Week . . .
Student of the Quarter: Logan Bravo (pictured right) has been recognized for his outstanding work in his BOCES program. Logan is at the top of his class and sets an example for his peers to follow! Kudos!
Lights Up! Happy Opening to the amazing cast and crew of The Great Gatsby! With the final dress rehearsal on Wednesday, the cast and crew were ready for packed shows on both Thursday and Friday! See pics here.
It's a Small World: The Rye Neck International Club's Annual Potluck Dinner was held on Friday, November 8th. Attendees and cuisine from over 33 countries rendered the night a huge success! The raffle raised over $730 and the silent auction raised over $1500!! Photos here.
Outside these Walls . . .
Rye Neck 9th grader Immanuel Tan will be performing next Saturday with the Excelsior Symphony Orchestra at their Fall Concert! Rye Neck has a long history of both student and parent performers participating in the Excelsior Symphony Orchestra, formerly the St. Thomas Orchestra. You can find more information about their Fall Concert through ArtsWestchester.
Bittersweet . . .
Mrs. Julie Ianello: "Mrs. I" has been central to the success of Rye Neck's Athletic Program for more than 20 years. Athletic Director, Joe Ceglia offered a moving tribute to her time as his assistant, underscoring her willingness to give of her time and herself for the greater good of our program. No matter the event--Homecoming, Panther Palooza, a rainy Saturday, a Friday evening--Mrs. I's energy and enthusiasm was a dependable mainstay of the Rye Neck fields! We wish her well in this new phase of her life and want her to know how very much she will be missed.
