Dear Millbridge Families,

As we face some of the coldest days of the season, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the resilience and positivity that our school community continues to show. Winter can bring challenges, but it also offers opportunities for growth, creativity, and connection.

Here are a few reminders to help us navigate these chilly days together:

1. Dressing for the Weather: Please ensure your child comes to school dressed warmly, with hats, gloves, scarves, and boots. Layering is key to staying comfortable during outdoor activities.

2. Staying Positive: Encourage your child to find joy in the season, whether it’s watching snowflakes fall, enjoying winter crafts, or sharing stories about their favorite moments of the day. A positive outlook can brighten even the coldest days.

3. Strengthening the Home-to-School Connection: Your partnership is invaluable to your child’s learning and well-being. Whether it’s reading together at home, discussing what they learned at school, or attending virtual or in-person events, staying connected makes a big difference.

4. Prioritizing Wellness: With colder weather comes the need to keep our health in check. Please remind your child about the importance of handwashing, staying active indoors, and getting plenty of rest.

Brielle was our Principal of the Day today. She has worked hard showing her bear paws and earned 150 coins. Brielle is a second grader and enjoys school and loves to color.

This week, your child came home with information about our SchoolStore.com Fundraiser.

This is 100% online so there is no selling or handling of money or products. Your participation is easy with no more than 12 minutes of your time.

Here is all you need to do for our program to succeed:

1. Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000158771 to sign up.
2. Send form emails inviting family, friends, and co-workers to support your student.
3. Return the Envelope with the Student Prize Code to school for your child to get their fun participation prize.
4. Prizes will be distributed within 2 days.

Just for participating (with 6 valid emails), your child will earn a Huggers Mystery Prize.

Individual Classes will have different activities to celebrate the holiday even though there is NOT school for students on February 14th. Students ARE permitted to bring in Valentine Cards for their classmates. Food/candy items NOT on the Approved Millbridge Snack List, will not be permitted. Please consider non-food items if you intend to make goodie bags for your child's classmates, please send in ONLY items identified on the approved snack list. We appreciate your attention to this policy. Please continue to have open communication with your child's teacher about the plan for the day.

The Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance will be hosting a STEM engagement night for multilingual families the evening of Monday, February 10th, with translators present, in the Delran Innovation & Fabrication Lab. Invitations to the families will be sent through the ESL teachers, to the students and families, next week.

Para famílias portuguesas (For Portuguese Families): A Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance realizará uma noite de engajamento STEM para famílias multilíngues na noite de segunda-feira, 10 de fevereiro, com tradutores presentes, no Delran Innovation & Fabrication Lab. Os convites às famílias serão enviados através dos professores de ESL, aos alunos e famílias, na próxima semana.

Türk Aileler İçin (For Turkish Families): Delran STEM Ekosistemi İttifakı, 10 Şubat Pazartesi akşamı Delran İnovasyon ve Fabrikasyon Laboratuvarı'nda çevirmenlerin de hazır bulunduğu çok dilli aileler için bir STEM katılım gecesine ev sahipliği yapacak. Ailelere davetiyeler gelecek hafta ESL öğretmenleri aracılığıyla öğrencilere ve ailelere gönderilecek.
