Outsourcing Fundraising Contract with Byrne & Pelofsky
Lisa Pelofsky, Co-Founder & CEO of Byrnes & Pelofsky, presented to the Board of Education on a proposal to assist Piper with fundraising and grant writing initiatives. No action was taken during the August meeting. More details to come next month.
Principal #BelieveTheHype Building Initiatives
Stasi Willmon, Darcey Bast, Jenny Golden, Tim Leffert, and Dr. Justin Bogart presented on each of their Building Action Plans for the 2024-25 School Year.
Mental Health Presentation
Laura Moore, District Mental Health Coordinator, presented to the Board of Education on implementation of new mental health initiatives and programs in the district, and the impact on our students and staff.
Piper Middle School Furniture Purchase
The Board approved purchasing student tables and chairs from Scott Rice for two classrooms in the amount not to exceed $31,000 to be funded from the 2022 Bond Proceeds FFE Budget.
Wheelchair Accessible Van for Onward Program
The Board approved the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van for students ages 18 to 21 in the Onward Special Education program from Masters Transportation at a cost not to exceed $85,000 to be paid from the 2024-25 Capital Outlay Fund.
Lighting Installation for Softball and Baseball Complexes
The Board approved hiring Capital Electric for the installation of the poles and overhead components of the field lighting system, with a total cost not to exceed $46,000 to be funded from the 2022 bond proceeds.
Piper Creek Elementary Subcontractor Services
The Board approved the action to pay the subcontractors involved in the Piper Creek Elementary construction projects. Details of expenses listed in the Executive Summary attached.
Piper Early Childhood Center Subcontractor Services
The Board approved the action to pay the subcontractors involved in the Piper Early Childhood Center construction projects. Details of expenses listed in the Executive Summary attached.
Equipment for Piper High School Pirate Bay Coffee Shop
The Board approved the purchase of essential coffee-making equipment for Piper High School Pirate's Bay Coffee Shop from Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters at a cost not to exceed $20,000 to be paid from the 2024-25 Fund 34 Career and Technical Education.
