FOR BAND-RELATED QUESTIONS
For all band-related questions, please do not reply to this email. Instead, please email your child's director separately using their district email address.
Direct replies to this email will not go to any directors' email inboxes and will not be seen.
This is in an effort to clean up our inboxes and help us more efficiently serve our families!
8th Grade Night This Friday!
This Friday night, 8th grade band members will be honorary members of the PHS Mighty Eagle Band! Information was sent out by the PHS directors next week. In case you missed it, the info is linked below!
While snacks will be provided after halftime, they are not a sufficient dinner. Please make sure your child eats prior to arrival!
Fundraiser Kickoff Today!
Families should receive an email from Every Penny sometime this week to set up a profile for your child. Most of the work is already done for you - no changes required unless you want to include your child's photo or more specific information from your child about band class. Once you are happy with your child's profile, simply blast the unique link out to family, friends, social media, etc! Anyone can contribute from anywhere!
*Note: Students must be in good standing (annual forms and fees completed) in order to be eligible to earn prizes.
FUNDRAISER GOAL: $20,000
**If we earn $20,000+, the directors will get a dunk tank and students who earn $200 or more will get one throw per $200 they raise to dunk the director of their choosing.
Band T-Shirts and Hoodies Coming Soon!
Shirts and hoodies have been delivered to Reynolds! Once the shipment has been checked for accuracy and items have been separated out, they will start going home!
Please note: Students must be in good standing (band forms and fees completed) in order to receive a band shirt and hoodie.
Volunteer Opportunities
Check back weekly for more opportunities!
BOA Prosper
Prosper ISD is very fortunate to partner with Bands of America each year to host a marching band competition which serves as a large fundraiser for all of the band programs! There are still lots of volunteer slots left for any families who are available to help out. It's a great chance to meet other band families, see some really amazing band programs, and give back to our community!
All information about the event as well as sign up slots can be found by clicking the link below!
Concessions
PBBC is fortunate to earn proceeds from concessions at PHS football games each week! It takes a small army to successfully run concessions for our games. Students can even join parents to help out for NJHS hours (and/or for a free ticket to the game before/after their shift).
Here are the available nights:
- Oct 4 - 8th Grade Band Night for Reynolds - Prosper vs Rock Hill (please keep in mind 8th grade members will be a part of the Mighty Eagle Band on this night, so please don't sign up your 8th grader!)
- Oct 18 - Prosper vs. McKinney
- Oct 31 - Prosper vs. Princeton
BEGINNING BAND CLASS UPDATES
This Week in Beginning Band....
WHAT'S NEW?
- Students should be working through their very first objective sheet, which will be due today for a major grade. Check in with your child to see how many signatures they have!

- Instruments should go home each night. From this point forward, it is a requirement for all instruments to go home nightly. Check your child's practice journal for current practice assignments!

- Instrument assembly and first full instrument sounds

PRIVATE LESSONS
Access at reynoldsband.com/lessons
Private lessons are a vital part of any successful band program and are what make the Reynolds band students really great musicians! Prosper ISD bands are very fortunate to have a staff of incredibly highly qualified teachers that have been vetted by the same intensive processes as all Prosper ISD school teachers. We very highly recommend that any and all band students enroll lessons offered through the Reynolds Band. Additionally, most students who take lessons from Reynolds lesson staff are able to take lessons during band class!
**Reminder: Private lessons are required for Symphonic Winds members as well as french horn, double reed, and percussion students.
Clarinet, saxophone, low brass, and percussion: Due to the high demand of for lessons from our amazing teachers at Reynolds as well as other schools, these sections tend to fill up FAST - we highly recommend signing up sooner than later to ensure a spot in the studio!
For more information about our lesson program, please visit reynoldsband.com/lessons or click the link below to enroll your child in the 2023-2024 Reynolds Band Private Lesson program today!
