Parents' Perspectives on Mathematics:
Participate in a Research Study at Ashland Middle School
Are you an AMS parent who wants to contribute to improving mathematics education? You can join a research study to share your experiences and perceptions about math.
Allen Lambert, a math teacher at Ashland Middle School, is conducting a qualitative case study as part of his doctoral degree. This study aims to bridge the gap between current research and parental beliefs about mathematics by exploring your thoughts and opinions.
Participating in a series of qualitative interviews will not only allow you to voice your concerns but also provide you with a platform to share your valuable insights. Your input could shape the future of math education at our school.
Five to six parents are needed to volunteer for this study, which will take place in June 2024.
If you want to participate, please read the attached letter and email Allen Lambert to express your interest and learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Arkansaw Bear at AHS in the Rose Studio
Opening this Friday at Ashland High School! Seating limited to 100 patrons. Tickets available at ashlandhs.booktix.net
Saddened and bewildered at her grandfather's approaching death, Tish runs to her "special tree." There, in a world of fantasy provided by her wish on a star, she meets the world's greatest dancing bear. He is old, like her grandfather, and is running away—from death. In trying to help him, she begins to understand the meaning of both life and death, which helps her to cope with her own sadness. The play blends realism and fantasy, pathos and humor. It is delightfully theatrical, with music, magic and dance, and enthusiastically applauded by children's audiences and family audiences. The Arkansaw Bear is an important work by America's foremost playwright for young audiences, sparkling with entertainment while also dramatizing, with poignancy, a universal truth.
Friday night May 17 will be pay what you will at the door!
