Highlights-
Upcoming FTC Events - Casino Night on 11/8
Positivity Project - The week's upcoming character traits and family letters are linked.
Red Ribbon Week - October 28th - November 1st to show our united support in Anti-Bullying.
Halloween - Our spirit day theme for 10/31 will allow students to wear school appropriate costumes if they so choose! But please remember that it is a regular school day and students will be playing outside at recess, attending PE, and should be able to take on and off their costumes independently to use the restroom. Please keep that in mind when determining their attire for the day!
No FOOD or CANDY will be allowed to be passed out in school.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Karen Marino
Red Ribbon Week October 28th - November 1st
Reminders for costumes on 10/31:
No wigs/masks/make-up, costumes should be such that students can use the bathroom independently and participate in recess and PE class with ease, no fake weapons, and no detachable accessories that may get lost or left behind.
Thank you!
Author/Illustrator Matthew Cordell!
We have filled our fall reading tree! As a reward, FTC and Salt Creek District 48 are delighted to welcome author/illustrator Matthew Cordell for a visit on Wednesday, November 13th. Mr. Cordell will talk with students about his career as an author/illustrator and discuss his books. This visit will take place in the morning and PM preschool students are invited to attend with a parent as well. Be on the look out for a note home with details from your preschool teacher.
Health Office Information
HEALTH OFFICE NEWS
There has been an increase in Pertussis (also known as whooping cough) nationally and locally. Pertussis is a very serious respiratory infection. Symptoms occur in three stages and typically appear 4 to 21 days after exposure. Stage 1: cold symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, mild fever, and cough) Stage 2: uncontrolled coughing followed by a whooping noise when breathing in air. This stage may last several weeks. Stage 3: Cough slowly disappears over several weeks. Pertussis requires antibiotic treatment. Please contact your healthcare provider should you or your child experience any of these symptoms. The best prevention is vaccination. Cases of Pertussis should be reported to your school's health office. Please see links below for more information.
