To all that gave to the staff gift baskets, THANK YOU! That was very thoughtful and meant a great deal to all of us. We love our jobs and these kids and to have a little appreciation gift hit our hearts with humility and great appreciation. We have not been spoiled like that is quite a few years, so on behalf of our staff, THANK YOU AGAIN!

Please be an active part of the booster club. We have a meeting this Tuesday in the band hall. We will have updates from WMI committee, Budget updates and Mr. Dixon will give info about all contests and the BOA trip to San Antonio.

Meetings start at 7pm sharp and normally last around 30 minutes.

We used to rent golf carts for WMI and started asking for parents to loan their golf cart for the day to the WMI. This saves us A TON of money. Please consider loaning your golf cart for the day. Please fill out the form below to donate your cart for WMI. Only adults are allowed to drive the golf carts.

These are used to:

• Refill water stations
• Park buses
• Help elderly from their vehicle to the stadium

REHEARSAL IS NEVER CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN. IF IT RAINS, WE REHEARSE INSIDE.

Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to rehearsal to put cases in locker, get any equipment needed for rehearsal, etc.

There will be a football game at the stadium on Monday, 10/3. We will rehearse at Cooper Jr. High that evening rehearsal. Front Percussion will rehearse at WHS in the band hall or courtyard area outside the storage room.

Wylie ISD Band Night has moved due to scheduling conflict with Jr. High football. This is a one year issue. We will be celebrating and hearing/seeing ALL junior high and high school band programs. TWB and POTE will receive critique from esteemed adjudicators for further improvement. This is a FREE event and no ticket is required.

Wylie ISD has approved the school calendar for 2022-23. This includes a fall break; however, all athletic and fine arts contests, rehearsals and productions will still run during that week. Meaning, even though WISD has a fall break scheduled, there will still be a football game and contests. This means there will be rehearsals too. Below is our plan for that week, so if you are looking to go away some time, here are the dates we will have games, rehearsals and contests.

SERVICE AWARD

Camaraderie Level of Service 10-30 points | Excellence in Service 40+ Points

1. Work 4 hours of service- Sports Concessions Stands (typically 2 hours per game), Contest or Concert setup/hosting at designated JH/HS band event. Each hour of service is worth 10 points. You may work more than 4 hours, however no more than 40 points can be obtained towards a letter jacket.
2. Participate in all Band Contests during the year.
3. No absence from any performance unless excused by the Band Director prior to the performance.

Note: Due to the increasing numbers of Band students wishing to letter each year, the Band Director may establish alternative means of meeting the Service requirements. Those students who cannot work in the concession stand on Tuesday or Thursday nights should check with the Band Director during football season to obtain alternate Service credit.
