Ridgeview Review Weekly
September 15th, 2024
Good Evening, Bobcats!
This is Mr. Miller, your proud principal of Ridgeview Middle School. We are looking forward to another great week. Please note, this week we have MAP Testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. MCPS uses the results from the MAP assessment in mathematics and English to monitor each student’s progress throughout the school year, as well as progress from one school year to the next. Teachers and school staff utilize the MAP scores to inform instruction, personalize the learning, and measure the performance and growth of students. MAP scores are one data point of many that teachers use to inform the learning processes during planning sessions. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest.
We also are looking forward to the Kickoff Carnival on Thursday. Students who would like to stay after school should fill out the permission slip and need to pay the $5 entry fee. Students will not be able to stay after school if they have not completed these two items. PTSA will be selling tickets all week during lunch. Hope to see everyone there!

Hispanic Heritage Month
We’re excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Ridgeview Middle School, and we invite parent volunteers to be a part of this vibrant and meaningful event! From September 16th to October 15th, we will host a series of activities and presentations during the school day and after school, that highlight the rich cultural heritage and contributions of the Hispanic community.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with cultural displays, interactive activities, and classroom discussions, creating an engaging and educational experience for our students. Your involvement will not only enrich our celebration, but also foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Hispanic cultures within our school community.
If you’re passionate about sharing your heritage or simply want to contribute to this special month, we would love to have you on board. Please contact Mrs. Wanakee Sheku (Wanakee_R_Sheku@mcpsmd.org) to sign up or for more information.
Let’s make this Hispanic Heritage Month a memorable and impactful experience for all our students!
