Quote of the week
"You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them."-Michael Jordan
From Mr. Wingfield
It was great to see all the kiddos back at school this week. I know that all of our students had different experiences over the break, but it is my hope that school is a place that they all come back to and feel welcome, loved, and safe. We continue to encourage students to talk openly with us about anything that affects their school day, negative or positive, so that we can continue to strive to be a place they all want to be. This is a very hectic time of year and with everything going on, we continue to keep our students as our top priority day in and day out. We are looking forward to a strong finish!!
This Friday we will host a MS track meet and will also host the District Middle School meet this coming Monday. If you are able, please come out and support our students. I want to also say good luck to any students participating in upcoming Little Dribbler and Stock Show competitions. I know they have all worked very hard.
Due to weather concerns, the HS track meet scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Today, March 20.
With STAAR tests quickly approaching, please let us know if your student will not be in attendance for any days that they are scheduled (see schedule below). I know some may be showing animals @ Leon County and there may be other conflicts as well. Our knowledge in advance helps us plan so we can make sure proper adjustments are made. Thanks in advance!
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.
Jared Wingfield

A huge shout out to our Health and Nutrition team as they continue to improve lunch and breakfast options for our students. They work hard every day to make sure they serve 100's of kids 2 times a day. Thanks for all you do!!

Capturing Kids Hearts March Lessons
In March we will focus on Courage. Sometimes it is difficult for students and adults to step out of their comfort zone. Our Monday character talks are now being led by some of our students in 6-8 grade. They are showing courage while speaking and also leading with courage. They are doing a great job!
From the Bus Barn-New Bus Management System
The Transportation Department is in the process of changing over a new Bus Management System called Bus Right. This system will enhance student safety, streamline bus communication, and manage routes at the touch of a button. A GPS system will track the bus on it's route and provide real time information to parents, administrators and route drivers. Parents will have peace of mind receiving drop off and pick up information before and after school. The system should be online soon. In the meantime, below is the information needed to download the app. Once you set it up on your phone, the app will automatically start giving you information when the transportation department has it up and running. We will let you know when that happens.
