The BHS ART Student Spotlight parade rolls on with Elliott Brown's nature-tastic show at the Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary! A life long animal lover, Elliott's work reminds us to "take action to protect, and preserve the wildlife we have been gifted with." Elliott's show has an opening this Saturday, March 22nd @ 12:00 for those interested in seeing great art in a beautiful place. Speaking of that beautiful place, a huge BHS community partner shout out to Catie Fyfe for getting us in the door at Long Pasture, and Ian Ives and Hayley Winfield for being so welcoming!
BHS Art Student Community Spotlights! Fernanda Maia!
Check out Fernanda Maia's visual meditation on the trials and triumphs girlhood located right across from Ten Pin at the Cape Cod Mall! Her work makes visible "what it is like inside our minds," and offers a powerful perspective on the things that can be both fun and hard as a young woman in our society. Another everlasting thank you to Alena Reardon for providing the exhibition space! Check out Fernanda's slideshow and a video of her work!
BHS Art Student Community Spotlights! Caylin Rockwell!
Caylin Rockwell's exploration of fear, attraction, and the macabre is up on display at the Black Pearl Tattoo Studio on Main Street! Art Beyond the Classroom!
Art Beyond the Classroom! The Memory Project!
The Memory Project is a unique project in which art students create portraits for children around the world who have been neglected, orphaned, or disadvantaged. This year, Ms. Fay Smith's Studio Art students created portraits for children in India. The video below shows the heartwarming impact of our students' lovingly created portraits being delivered. Tissue Warning! This one is a happy tear jerker, might want to watch with a tissue.

Just an update on Lili Nguyen's award winner year (already took first place in the EYAD contest!) Out of the more than 8,000 entrees into the Scholastic Art Awards, Lili was 1 of 4 students nominated for a National American Vision Award! To top it off, they selected 1 student to speak at the Regional Gold Key Awards this year and it was, you guessed it, Lili. Congrats again!
