ISSUE 53 - SCS OPERATING LEVY
Issue 53 will be on the November 5th ballot. Issue 53 replaces the previous 5.9 mill renewal levy for our District. Since Issue 53 is a 4.9 mill continuous levy, it will lower the tax rate for Strongsville residents, while still investing and offering more to students and families, as well as keeping the District financially stable through the 2028-29 school year.

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MATT JANCAR, INTERVENTION SPECIALIST & CEP TEACHER - SHS
Mr. Matt Jancar is an Intervention Specialist and also leads the Career Exploration Program at Strongsville High School. Mr. Jancar is a resident of Strongsville and, through his role in the Career Exploration Program, continues to develop positive relationships with community members and business organizations. In addition to his responsibilities at SHS, Mr. Jancar also coaches boys basketball at Strongsville Middle School. He is a graduate of Kent State University and also earned his graduate degree from Cleveland State University.
“I value the relationships I have with students and appreciate that I can be a positive role model. I approach this job as a parent first, as I know the expectations I have when I send my kids to school every day. I also know the worries I have for my own kids, so I do my best to look out for my students. Seeing the growth they make over the four years of high school is the most rewarding part of teaching.”
“Because of my roles as both an Intervention Specialist and teacher in the Career Exploration Program, I'm lucky to see a variety of students. I also get to work with these same students for multiple years and develop strong relationships with them and their families. We have a great staff and strong leadership at the high school which helps us all row in the same direction. I appreciate that we put an emphasis on the whole child and continue to change with the times instead of becoming stagnant and set in our ways.”
Thank you Mr. Jancar for your efforts in helping our students find their pathways for “life after SHS!” #ModelMustang
