Roberts Families,

In just a few short weeks we will be back into the "swing of things" and starting another wonderful school year. I know at home backpacks will be pulled out, first day outfits planned and excitement bubbling up in both kids and parents! On our end its very similar, teachers are already eager to come in and set up their classrooms, doors are being installed and a new playground is underway.

I am beyond excited to be back at Roberts for my third year as your principal. I honestly believe we have the BEST staff, students and community around. Our dedicated staff comes to school every day not only to help your students academically but most importantly they care tremendously about them as people. Our OUTSTANDING PTO plans amazing events throughout the year and are extremely dedicated to your students and making sure our calendars stay booked with fun!

This newsletter contains lots of "getting ready for the school year" info that we wanted to share with our families. Including information regarding the date an email will go out with your student’s teacher, links to set up your payschools account, technology insurance forms, free lunch information and security procedures.

19 - Bus stops emailed to families

22 - Teacher Assignments emailed to families after 3:00pm

27 - School begins - half day for elementary (9:00 am - 12:04 pm)

28 and 29- full days of school for elementary (bell times - 9:00 - 3:50)

30 - NO SCHOOL

September

2 - No school - Labor Day

3 - Classes resume full days

6 - Device Insurance DUE DATE - must be purchased by this date

11 - Open House 7:00pm

18 - No school - teacher professional development workday

How to Purchase Device Insurance -- ONLINE:

The initial fee to purchase device insurance can be paid online using your checking account, debit card or credit card through PaySchools. The link to PaySchools is the same for ALL schools: https://www.payschoolscentral.com/

Just follow these easy steps:

• Log in to your account from your computer or tablet at: www.payschoolscentral.com (Important - it is not recommended to use the app as it does not properly support UCS content).
• Search for Technology Device Insurance

Note to new kindergarten families and families new to the district - You will need to first create the PaySchools account for your family.

• Complete the account registration by selecting register, enter your profile details, setting up your password via the email link that will be sent to you, then logging in.
• Add your children to your account using their student ID numbers. ID numbers are found in PowerSchool, and on their report card available through PowerSchool.
• If you like, enter credit card and/or banking information as forms of payments to use with your PaySchools account.

PaySchools is PCI-compliant and maintains industry-standard SSL certificates, ensuring all your family’s data is safe and secure.

This year, we will communicate grade level classroom assignments for your child in a convenient and secure manner. We will be emailing the classroom assignments to you directly using the e-mail addresses on file in PowerSchool.Parents will receive an email with their child's teacher after 3:00pm on Thursday, August 22nd. If for any reason you do not receive it, you can check your child's PowerSchool account or call the office on Friday, August 23rd.

Roberts Families:

We are asking for your assistance to ensure that our security procedures during the school day are effective. As many of you know, our school has a security camera, intercom, and buzzer at the front entrance for use during the school day. To help us assist you when you would like to enter the school:

1. Please press the buzzer to speak with someone in the office

2. You will be asked to state your name and reason for visiting

3. You will be asked to show your photo ID into the security camera above the outside door

4. Office staff will assist you.

In addition, we are asking you to not let any visitors in the door as you enter (and they come up behind you) or as you exit the building.

The teachers and staff are committed to student safety and security and we would like to thank you for your assistance in helping keep the students of Roberts safe.

• Students that would like to be eligible for benefits, such as pay-to-participate sports, college entrance/AP testing fees, summer EBT cards and more need to complete the Eligibility Benefits Form or the School Meals and Summer EBT Form

• A paper copy will also be sent home at the beginning of the school year.

Please see the link below for a suggested school supply list for the 2024-2025 school year. Note these are suggested school supplies and are NOT required. If you are not able to purchase them, please do not worry we will make sure your student has all they need.

Medications at Schools--Information and Forms

Any child who needs to have medication administered at school will need to have completed medical forms on file for each medication. This includes over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol/Advil, cough drops, allergy medication, and others.

Children may not bring any medication to school, including allergy medication, without signed medical forms on file. Please do not send medication to school in your child's backpack, such as inhalers, EpiPen, or over-the-counter medications as they will be asked to keep the medication in the office for parents to pick up. If your child needs to have medication in their backpack per Doctor recommendation, UCS requires the completed medical form to be on file with the office.
