Curtis Chronicles
April 29, 2024
Welcome from Curtis Principal, Sonya Pitcock
Cougar Families,
I want to start our newsletter this week by bragging on your kids. While testing is not anyone’s favorite thing to do, and most of us it’s our LEAST favorite thing to do, your kids took testing in stride! They did their best and were patient with the process. They followed directions, took their time, brought charged Chromebooks, and tried their best. We have one last day to test and that’s tomorrow, April 30th. We expect them to finish strong tomorrow and we know they will! Thank you for your support of your kids at home!
We have a busy end of year so here are some important dates:
May 7 – MAP testing
May 9 – MAP Testing
May 10 - Spring Pictures
May 10 – Spring Dance
May 13 – Pinstack Trip (8th grade eligible students)
May 13 – Yearbook Distribution
May 13 – NJHS Induction Ceremony
May 20-23 – Final Exams
May 23 – Chromebook Collection
As we get closer to the end of the year, the counselors and teachers are reaching out to anyone who may need summer school information. Please be sure to respond promptly to their communication so we can make sure the students are taken care of for summer needs.
Parent University is a program designed for parents and caregivers to receive training, information, and resources on relevant topics aimed to help develop the skills needed to implement positive parenting practices. Please take a minute to provide feedback on Parent University so that we can make next year's classes even better!

PINSTACK Allen!
Here’s how it will work:
On the night of your event, your friends, family and supporters will need to mention Curtis Middle School PTA at the bowl desk when purchasing their lane. They will pay as they normally would for their bowling & shoe rental and anything else (food, beverages, game cards, etc.) they may purchase during the night and 100% of bowl lane time purchased will be donated back to your organization!
