San Juan Unified For All
There has been increased interest in the rights of our students and our school communities with regard to potential immigration enforcement actions by the federal government.
Our core values at San Juan Unified include that of Belonging, in which we create a community that cultivates welcoming and inclusive environments with genuine respect for our diversity of cultures, identities and abilities. Championing, another core value, means that we support and advocate for those in our San Juan Unified community who are disproportionately impacted or marginalized by circumstances beyond their control.
It is these values that our district will use as guides in our continued support of all students regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or immigration status. Our focus on partnering with our San Juan Unified community to create supportive learning experiences in which all students, families and staff can excel and thrive will not waver as we work to provide an educational environment free from anxiety and disruptions.

Health Update
As we navigate through the school year, it’s not uncommon for students to experience various illnesses, especially with changing weather and the presence of common viruses. Recently, there has been an increase of students and staff that have reported illnesses that have included fevers. We understand that illnesses spread quickly, and we want to ensure the well-being of our school community.
Here are some steps and recommendations we would like to share:
Communication: We encourage you to inform us if your child is feeling unwell, showing symptoms of an illness, or has been diagnosed with a contagious condition. This helps us monitor the situation and take proactive measures.
Stay home when sick. If your child is not feeling well, we strongly recommend keeping them at home until they are symptom-free and fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Good hygiene practices: remind your child about the importance of regular handwashing with soap and water, covering their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and using tissues.
Sanitization - We are providing enhanced cleaning of common touchpoints and encouraging frequent handwashing.
The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the office.
