June 2025
Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Nanuet Community,
What a wonderful school year it has been!
It’s always a bittersweet farewell to our seniors, balanced by the excitement of “moving up” for our fourth- and eighth-grade students. Of course, the Grade two “Clap Out” is a joyful and fun tradition as our littlest Knights make their way from Miller to Highview.
A key feature in this month’s newsletter is an informational piece for parents and students about the New York State “bell-to-bell” ban on internet-capable devices, which goes into effect in September. Under this new policy, students will not be permitted to carry any device capable of connecting to the internet—including phones, smartwatches or similar items—while inside school buildings.
We’ve included a video that outlines the general details of the new policy and explains how it will be implemented here in Nanuet. Please note, this is not a local decision—it is a statewide requirement for all K-12 schools in New York. Questions or concerns about this legislation should be directed to the New York State Department of Education or your state lawmakers.
This June edition is filled with end-of-year highlights and photos of our students and staff doing what they do best—enjoying the incredible opportunities made possible by the generous support of the Nanuet community.
Best wishes for a happy, safe and fun summer!
Sincerely,
Lisa Brady, Ed.D.
