* SENIORS!! Please complete this post-secondary survey ASAP.
* The Public Education Foundation Scholarships open October 1st!
* By popular demand, Brave New Words is back this week! October 1st from 2:15-3:15 PM and October 9th from 2:05-3 PM in K-3!
* Worried about college affordability? Run the Net Price Calculator for your school of choice.
* Southern Nevada College Week is October 20-24th! College Week Activities coming soon!
* Keep track of upcoming events! Use a calendaring system! Deadlines should be on your calendars!
* The 25-26 FAFSA will open in December 2024.
* LVA will offer three Parent FAFSA Workshops: October 21st, December 10th, and January 14th from 5-7 PM in the LVA Library.
* Pay Attention to Priority Deadlines:
Early Decision Nov.1
Priority Admission & Institutional Aid Nov. 15
* Create a professional email account for college and scholarship communications ONLY.
* Sign up for LVA on-campus college visits in Naviance under "College Visits."
* Start asking for letters of recommendation NOW: usually an academic teacher, a major teacher, and a counselor. Any club advisors or coaches may be valuable.
* Don't forget to complete the student profile in the "surveys" section of Naviance!
* You may also choose to create a resume/brag sheet and provide it to recommenders when you request a letter of reference.
* Create a scholarship tracking spreadsheet to keep track of submissions!
