Let’s celebrate beginning the 5th week of the 2nd Quarter. Thank you all for contributing to a great Storybook Character Day last Thursday. I would also like to thank Ms. Morales for leading and Mr. Tomlinson for working on the 8th Grade High School Transition night last Tuesday.

I also had some marvelous meetings with our Dedicated Dragons, our Student Advisory Board on Friday. They enjoyed Chik-fil-A while happily voicing their various perspectives about their Dealey experience. They are excited about leading Peace Wednesdays and leading other school wide culture/climate improvement initiatives.

Our Dealey dragons all over the building are working very hard. They are happily producing the works of their hands. As a campus, we are focused on increasing skill and knowledge acquisition in all of our students. This focus is dependent on the level of engagement present in our classrooms , the student’s intrinsic motivation and their ability to be independent.

Maria Montessori always encouraged educators to follow the child. We must guide them into organizing their planners and self monitoring their progress. We must also ask all of our students “How do you feel about your work?” “What did you discover while working on this particular activity?” As we continue to “Follow the Child” here at Dealey, their voices and perspectives will be honored in our decision making processes.

Thank you for encouraging all of our students to express themselves. Together, we will live up to our school mission and this year’s theme of Breathing Fires 🔥 of Excellence!

Picture retakes will be on November 8th, 2024.

Students must obtain prior approval before using personal telecommunications or other personal electronic devices for instructional use. When students are not using the devices for approved instructional purposes, all devices must be turned off during the instructional day. Violations of the user agreement may result in withdrawal of privileges and other disciplinary action.
