Monthly Memo from the Principal

This is the best time of year and a good reminder to be thankful for all of the blessings we have in our lives! Fall is absolutely my favorite season (minus the no baseball part). I love the opportunity the week off gives us to spend time with family and the fellowship around food. It also gives me time to get our fall family pictures turned into our Christmas card (see included photo of my children). This Thanksgiving, I am very grateful for our amazing PHE staff. Their hard work and love for our students is above and beyond. We are surrounded daily by adults who LOVE children and would do anything to help them ALL be successful.

If you have a PHE staff member that you would like to recognize or thank, please consider filling out one of these forms. We will be recognizing ONE staff member per week for Leader of the Pack: Staff Edition. Also, here is a copy of our staff FAVORITE THINGS page. With the holidays quickly approaching, you might want to know what your teacher's snack or food of choice may be! Please let us know how we can support your student or your family.

To all of our veterans and active service members: we will be celebrating Veteran's Day on Friday, November 8th where you are welcome to join us for breakfast at 7:10 AM (see prices below) and a special Veteran's Day Husky Huddle in the gym at 7:30 AM. We will also be playing a very special slide show in our front foyer hallway. Grab a seat and enjoy after the huddle!

Just a note that we will be serving our annual Thanksgiving lunch on Monday, November 18th during our scheduled lunch times (see below). Parents are welcome to join us. Please use this link to RSVP and attend. Please have your driver's license available to sign in at the front office.

Student meals are $2.90 and guests are $4.25 (cash or check only). No debit/credit cards are accepted on campus. Cards may be used at this site to make payments on your student's account.

Would you like to meet our new assistant principal, receptionist, counselor, and administrative assistant? We have so many new faces in our front office! Please join us on Friday, November 22 in the teacher's lounge from 8:00-8:30 AM (after huddle) for donuts and coffee. Mrs. Robbins will be hosting this time together to meet new office staff and also review our campus improvement goals. We will also use this time to share the PHE Site-Based Decision Making Committee process and seek feedback.

Please be on the lookout for a paper copy of the spelling bee permission form this week in Wednesday folders! There is a quick turnaround to get forms turned into your teacher and study guides printed. Forms are due to your teacher by Monday, November 11.

Please consider checking out the Leander ISD PTA Clothes Closet website and donate the gift of time! They are ALWAYS looking for volunteers and we have many families in our district that need this support. Please consider this one of the ways you can give back this season.

If you are needing to chat or check-in with your student's teacher, please feel free to send them an email requesting a phone conference or a parent/teacher meeting via Zoom or in person. They would love to help support your student, but trying to meet during lunches on Friday is not convenient for our staff. Thank you for your understanding and support!
