MOQ MUSTANG MARCH 2024
14TH ANNUAL MUSTANG MARCH! OCTOBER 18, 2024
We are ready to MARCH!
It’s time to MARCH!
Today, the MOQ Home and School Association held its annual kickoff for Mustang March 2024! Read on to learn the important details for this year’s Mustang March.
When is Mustang March?
Friday, October 18th. Activities begin after Mass at approximately 10:15 AM. Students are dismissed at Noon and AM Preschool will dismiss at 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM for Preschool/Pre-K.
Where is Mustang March?
It begins and ends on the MOQ soccer field. Students will march through the MOQ/Prairie Lane neighborhood. The route will be emailed to parents the night before the March.
Who participates in Mustang March?
Everyone! Students in grades K-8 will march throughout the Prairie Lane neighborhood. Preschool and Pre-K students will cheer on the marchers from the Preschool parking lot and enjoy lunch at approximately 11:00 AM in the Early Childhood Education and Youth Center parking lot. Parents, grandparents, and friends of MOQ are invited to join the March.
Does my child need permission to participate in Mustang March?
Students in grades K-8 will need permission to march. Permission forms will be sent home with every student today. The signed permission form must be returned to school by Friday, October 4th. If your child is unable to walk the route due to health issues, they will be supervised in the school library. Preschool/Pre-K students will not need permission as their activities will not take them off campus.
Will lunch be provided?
Students have the option of purchasing a regular school lunch (hoagie sack lunch) or bringing their own cold lunch. Weather permitting, classes will eat outside. Parents are welcome to bring their own lunch and join their students for an outdoor lunch.
How will Mustang March funds be used?
Mustang March 2024-2025 is our biggest annual fundraiser, and it’s ready to take center stage! Your generous donations will help fund math manipulatives, classroom projector upgrades, and professional development opportunities for teachers. These resources are essential to enhancing the learning environment and supporting academic success. We take great pride in our academic curriculum and the opportunities it provides our students. This beloved tradition not only supports Mary Our Queen Catholic School, but also brings together our parish, school, and neighborhood in a spectacular way! Let’s March!
How can I donate?
You can donate online! Share the Mustang March website with family and friends on social media platforms. Simply visit the website and select “Family Donation.” It’s EASY — family members and friends can donate for multiple children at once by entering their names and selecting their grade. We encourage online donations as much as possible. We hope each family will consider donating at least $100.00 per child or $300.00 per family.
Other details:
An all-school Mass will start at 9:00 AM (parents are invited to join us for Mass).
Students will return to the soccer field by 10:15 AM for the start of the March.
On the day of the March, each student will receive a Mustang March T-shirt provided free of charge by our generous corporate sponsors.
Parents are invited to join Home and School for coffee in the Trinity Rooms before the March begins.
Friday, October 18th, is a Noon Dismissal Day ( AM Preschool will dismiss at 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM for Preschool/Pre-K).
In past years, we’ve raised money for iPad carts, iPads for K-4 classrooms, religion books, teacher education and training, the STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), a new leveled reading program for students, and last year’s funds supported the outdoor classroom, peaceful playground, and the replacement of the rubber mulch. Every dollar raised during this fundraiser directly benefits our students year after year!
Friday, October 18th, will be filled with community spirit, fun student activities, and a little exercise as the children MARCH around the Prairie Lane neighborhood, ending the morning with a picnic lunch on the field. Please join us for this FUN event!
