HIRING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Link Named Executive Director of Human Resources
We know the Junior High will miss him but congratulations to Dr. Phillip Link! During a special board meeting on Jan. 26, the Board of Education voted to hire him as the Executive Director of Human Resources beginning in the 2024-25 school year.
"I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with and support each employee as we all work toward our mission of providing a high quality education for each student's future-readiness," Link said.
BUILDING HIGHLIGHTS
Makin' Music
Congratulations to our OHS band and choir students who performed at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference last week at Lake of the Ozarks. Derek Gnagy and Asher Lairmore performed in the All-State Honor Band while Matthew Baum, Kamryn Mayfield and Harleigh Preston performed in the All-State Choir.
What is EL?
Did you know there are 18 languages spoken in the Ozark School District? We have five English learner teachers, known as EL teachers, who provide listening, speaking, reading and writing assistance to help students meet Ozark’s academic standards.
On Wednesday, administrators visited a North first grade classroom and saw firsthand how EL students are learning through immersion in the English language.
Transforming Angles into Achievements
Before winter break, 75 of Ozark High School's geometry and calculus students were honored for demonstrating advanced knowledge of every learning objective in the first semester of geometry. They received a "Geometric Genius" pin and were celebrated in front of all their classmates. We are immensely proud of these students for their hard work in mastering complicated math concepts!
Innovation at Work
Combining design and innovation, OJH eighth grade ELA students created and presented infographics this week. Projects included a wide range of topics from environmental sustainability to technological advancements. We love how creative these turned out!
South Super Spellers
Ms. Shelor's entire second grade class at South Elementary scored 100% on their spelling tests earning them some extra recess in the beautiful weather this week.
