WHO WE ARE
THORNTON CREEK MISSION STATEMENT
We, the students, staff, and families of Thornton Creek share the responsibility of creating a safe and positive environment that promotes self-esteem, mutual respect, and optimum student learning.
Our Mission Statement is supported by the following Belief Statements:
Learning takes place at different rates and at different times
In utilizing multiple learning strategies
A positive climate fosters risk-taking
The application of problem-solving skills, higher-order thinking skills, and technology skills are critical to success in the 21st century
In facilitating avenues for self-expression and celebrating creativity
In encouraging students to reach their maximum potential for attaining knowledge
OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL
In Northville Public Schools, diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to opening a World of Possibilities for and with every student. We commit to developing a community that fosters a sense of belonging, respect, and access for all in order for students across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic factors, abilities, and identities to reach their maximum potential.
AWESOME GATORS: Students & Staff (& Families)
Principal for the Day Winner: Mr. vonReichbauer
2nd grade student, Barrett, did an outstanding job leading our team earlier this week. He ran our arrival and dismissal, met with students, shared brilliant suggestions for our playground and cafeteria, and still had time to play with friends!
Thanks for sharing your talents with us, Mr. vonReichbauer!
Mr. Doug (pictured above) is our day custodian and is doing a phenomenal job not only keeping our school clean, but also building relationships with students and staff. Thanks for all you do, Mr. Doug!
Looking Ahead to AWESOMENESS!!
It has become a wonderful tradition across the district to host an annual STEAM Fair where students have the opportunity to shine and put their creativity and problem-solving on full display.
Well, it is almost that time of year again!
Please VIEW THIS VIDEO to learn all about this year's STEAM Fair and how to enter.
THAT JUST HAPPENED
DEEEETROIT...BASKETBALLLL!
On Friday, March 14th, the DETROIT PISTONS visited Thornton Creek!!!
Aside from having a TON of fun, our students and staff were engaged in meaningful conversations about being a good sport (win or lose), being a good person, and understanding that we all have things we are good at and things at which we might struggle. However, if we act with confidence and do our best, we can achieve GREAT things!
