First Annual Career Fair for 8th Graders!
Dear Families,
HRMS is excited to announce our upcoming Career Fair designed specifically for our 8th graders. This event aims to inform and inspire our students as they prepare to choose classes for high school this spring. We are reaching out to request you consider participating - or encourage interesting people you know to participate. A variety of experiences and insights can greatly inspire our students. We will hold the event on Friday, March 21 from approximately 9 - 11 AM at Hidden River (631 Albert St. N).
If you would like to join us, here are some insights to consider sharing:
- Your high school journey
- How you landed your job
- Background and inspirations for your career
- Reflections on what you would tell your 8th-grade self
- Any role models that influenced your path
- Any previous careers before your current one?
Your participation would mean a lot to us and help shape our students' futures!
Best regards,
Thomas Haugen, 8th Grade Social Studies
Ayoub Nigatu, 8th Grade Guidance Counselor
and Wendy Caucutt, Family Liaison

Classroom Updates
French Immersion
Last Thursday, all French Immersion students participated in the French Day at the MN Zoo. Shout out to our 8th grade students who presented their projects in French multiple times throughout the day to an audience of French speakers and learners in the Tropics Trail. This year’s projects were about tropical rainforest, ring-tailed lemur, colobus monkey, Komodo’s dragon, and Egyptian fruit bats. 6th and 7th graders interacted with presenters in French as well. We are very grateful to all the chaperones who helped make this experience possible.
Athletics
*Students that are NOT on the team need to be with a parent/guardian in order to attend the game.

Keep Connected offers resources to families, including tips, ideas, activities and learning opportunities to support strong family relationships.
Family Talk Starters - This Week’s Focus: Explore your family story. When you have a few minutes, ask other family members a question or two. Enjoy the conversation!
When you have a few minutes, ask other family members a question or two. Enjoy the conversation!
- Think about recent generations of your family (including grandparents and, if possible, great-grandparents). What stories do you know about how they got along with each other? How is your family the same and different from previous generations?
- What do you value most that has been passed down across generations in your family?
