WP September Monthly Update
Welcome back!
Back to School!
William Penn Families,
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! I hope this letter finds you and your family well-rested and ready for the wonderful experiences that the upcoming year will bring. Whether you are a returning family, or new to our community, I am thrilled to welcome you to what promises to be a year filled with learning and growth.
As we embark on this journey together, I want to take a moment to express how much I value the strong partnership between our school and our families. Your continued involvement, whether through communication with teachers, participation in school events, or supporting your child at home, is critical to the success of our students.
At William Penn we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student feels valued and supported. Our amazing staff has been working hard to prepare enriching learning experiences that will challenge and inspire your child to achieve their best.
We encourage you to stay connected with the school through our website, newsletters, and our social media platforms. My door is always open for questions, concerns, or suggestions. Together, we can make this year a memorable and successful one for everyone!
Again, I want to thank you for your ongoing support and trust. I look forward to seeing the amazing things we will accomplish as a school community.
Looking forward to continuing the journey next week.
Warm regards,
Corey Turkish (Principal)

Reminders
Gentle Reminders...
-Schedules should be live in PowerSchool. We have found they may not load correctly on cell phones, so if you are having trouble please try with a computer. Students will get a paper copy on their first day of school.
-Please remind students to keep their cell phones/air pods/apple watches/etc. away during the school day. These devices keep students from fully engaging in their class content. If you ever need to get a hold of your child during the day, please call our office and we will of course make sure that they come to the office and speak to you. We appreciate your help.
-Students are not permitted to walk around with bookbags. Our hallways are not big enough to accommodate it. Students can however walk around with a draw string back that holds their supplies/books.
MAP Testing
Students will take both ELA and Math MAP tests in lieu of LinkIT testing this year. These tests will occur during their classes the second week of school.
Safe2Say Training
Students will be trained in our Safe2Say program their second week back to school. It is important that students know how to report things confidentially. Our doors are always open, but Safe2Say is a great way to report things as well.
