Ready, Set ,Go! Follow Jesus, Here, There and Everywhere!
On Friday all of our grades 1 - 5 students engaged in our Student Faith Retreat! This was a unique opportunity for students to get excited about their faith engaging in song, dance, games, stories and more that encourage students to encounter Jesus and follow His message! Students began the morning as a whole school in prayer and song, before joining their cross grade groups for some exciting activities (Obstacle Course, Cahoot, Secret Message, Story and Song). All students were treated to a free hot dog lunch with watermelon & ice cream sandwiches and other snacks. In the afternoon students were back with their homerooms engaging in faith filled lessons, culminating with a final whole school closing prayer celebration. We were so excited to offer our students this opportunity to grow in their faith and love of God! A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR MANY PARENTS and Trustee Radford WHO CAME OUT TO HELP WITH OUR LUNCH!

SKTA Registrations - Come Grow With Us!
Congratulations to our two families who won our 'Returning Registration Contest' for our families. The Culp-McBeth Family as well as the Nelson Family will both have one School Fees Registration covered for the 2024-2025 school year!
We know our students and families love SKTA and we want to spread the word! If you know of families who are considering a great school where all children will be well cared for and loved, educated holistically in mind, body and spirit, please encourage them to reach out to us at SKTA to consider joining our school family! We welcome all and want to share the SKTA experience! Prospective families are always welcome to contact us directly at the school office.

Healthy Hunger - Can you help?
We are looking for PARENT VOLUNTEERS for our Healthy Hunger for the 2024-25 School Year. Below is a description of what we would require. It can be one volunteer for both jobs positions or it can be split into two positions as described below.
1. A Parent to contact the businesses (we have the list of businesses) and setup the dates for next school year (one per month) and enter the dates and classes into the Healthy Hunger online website (we would provide info).
2. A Parent to come to the school on the Healthy Hunger dates (once per month) from 12:30pm-1:00pm and deliver the orders to the classrooms (the list is provided by the businesses and the orders come sorted and organized). You would also help pass the orders out to the students in the class.
Please email Sherry Gagne if you are interested in helping us with one or both of the positions above sgagne@gsacrd.ab.ca

GSACRD Voice - MENTAL HEALTH WEEK!
How to Teach Boundaries
Teaching your children to understand personal boundaries, respecting people’s space, and communicating their need for alone time is an invaluable skill to learn. As adults, we get to practice setting boundaries, and we understand how important setting boundaries are for our own mental health and well-being. Children, however, don’t always get the opportunity to practice in a healthy way and it is a necessary life skill for them to learn as well. Practicing setting boundaries in a safe space helps children learn self-awareness and how to respect other people’s boundaries too.
Check out this week’s craft from Big Life Journal called “I Need Space: Door Hanger Craft”. Your child can hang these door hangers on their bedroom door or any space they want to designate as their personal sanctuary when needing a break.

Student Absences, Appointments and Early Pickup
Please enter ALL your child's absences on safe arrivals. Some examples include vacation, illness, appointments, or needing to leave early. Ensuring your child's attendance is accurately recorded is essential for us to provide the best educational experience.
Please visit our website (Click HERE) for detailed instructions under the MENU.
Ongoing Reporting - Viewing your students marks
We encourage all parents to use PowerSchool as a tool to remain informed about student progress. Questions or concerns about student assessments should be directed to your child's homeroom teacher. Interviews to discuss student progress will continue to be a valuable opportunity for collaboration between home and school. In addition to this, reciprocal emails and phone calls will also be essential to maintaining a solid relationship that is focused on student success.
Please watch video on our website (Click HERE) for a step by step on how to access.
