"March roars in like a lion so fierce. The wind so cold, it seems to pierce. The month rolls on and Spring draws near. And March goes out like a lamb so dear."
Do good, go green, earn badges, earn green.
Hi all,
It's official. More than 100 students have earned badges through the Green Star Schools Program. Are you providing avenues for your students to showcase their 21st Century Credentials? Are you interested in learning how it works?
Find out more about the process at badges.aurorak12.org
In order to earn cash incentives with the Green Star Schools Program, your students and club members will need to earn badges to demonstrate student engagement in the program!
Congrats to the green teams at Hinkley, Fulton, Elkhart, Lyn Knoll, and AWCPA for earning badges!
Interaction: Interact and actively collaborate with peers, experts, and school staff
1. Students select an activity or reflect on a past activity and how it's defined by the "Journey" Badges. The Journey Badges exemplify 21st Century Credentials and allow students to earn badges to unlock one or all of the Five Summit Badges:
Invention
Critical Thinking
Collaboration
Self-Direction
Information Literacy
2. Students complete activities that support their school in the Green Star Schools Program, a complete list of activities and CLAIM CODES is available on the Green Stars Playbook: https://docs.google.com/a/aurorak12.org/document/d/1FukuJNqUdSWkye-ANQ5Uhp-eupFn1xsdWomUJ-dViTk/edit?usp=sharing
3. Students upload evidence onto https://apsbadge.credly.com/#!/sign-in (photos, reports, videos, links to websites, social media posts, etc.) using their @aurorak12.org email and password.
4. An email will be sent to the student with confirmation of earned badge!

Friday is here and that means it's time for students to remind teachers and staff to unplug appliances and electronics and to turn off any lights and unnecessary equipment for a jump start on energy savings over the weekend.
Here's to another week of going green!
