Dear HA Students, Staff, and Families,
Midterm exam week is here! With (2) two-hour exams each day, it’s essential to be prepared. Here are five study tips to help you make the most of your preparation time:
1. Create a Study Schedule
Break it Down: Plan specific time slots for each subject, focusing on areas where you need the most improvement.
Stick to It: Treat your schedule like an appointment to stay consistent and productive.
2. Use Active Study Techniques
Quiz Yourself: Use flashcards or practice questions to test your recall.
Teach Someone Else: Explaining concepts to a friend or family member can reinforce your understanding.
Summarize Key Points: Write down main ideas in your own words to ensure you understand the material.
3. Take Breaks
Follow the 50/10 Rule: Study for 50 minutes, then take a 10-minute break. This helps prevent burnout.
Get Moving: Use your breaks to stretch or take a quick walk to refresh your mind.
4. Prepare the Night Before
Pack Your Essentials: Make sure you have everything you need for the exam—pens, pencils, calculators, etc.
Review Lightly: Avoid last-minute cramming. Instead, skim over notes or flashcards for a quick refresher.
5. Take Care of Yourself
Sleep Well: Aim for 7–9 hours of sleep each night to help your brain stay sharp.
Eat Smart: Fuel your body with brain-boosting foods like eggs, nuts, and fruits.
Stay Hydrated: Keep a water bottle handy to stay focused and energized.
Good luck with your exams - you’ve got this!
Have a great weekend!
