Voter Registration + Blueprint Highlights
The district has two funding measures on this November’s ballot. One is a bond to invest in our building, and the other is a mill levy override to invest in operations such as staffing and academic programming.

Blueprint Funding Proposals, which will appear on this November’s ballot, resulted from more than a year-long engagement process to identify the community’s values and priorities for schools across the district. Thank you for helping build this plan and its investments!

2024 Halloween Guidelines
Adams 12 Five Star Schools fosters the opportunity for students and families to participate in a celebration that is respectful of all cultures, religions, races and beliefs. In our efforts to maintain a respectful, safe and secure learning environment, the following guidelines have been developed for Halloween celebrations. These guidelines apply to students, staff, and participants in all Halloween celebrations – during and after the school day. Please contact your school administrator for information specific to your school.
These guidelines apply to all students, regardless of the learning model in which they are enrolled. Costumes may only be worn on Thursday, October 31, 2024, or at after-school events authorized by the designated school.
Costumes that would violate District Policy 5060: Student Dress Code will only be permitted if approved by an administrator before being worn at school. For safety reasons, masks or makeup must not cover the student's face in a way that makes them unrecognizable. Masks or makeup that hide a student's identity may be worn only during designated times, such as during a costume contest.
The following are not considered appropriate for school or school events:
- Costumes that are too graphic, promote violence or that could logically be offensive to others.
- Costumes that are sexually suggestive and that would otherwise violate the school's dress code
- Costumes with sound effects, lights or other components that will disrupt the learning environment in the classroom
- Costumes that could be considered insensitive to various races, cultures and religions.
- Toy or replica weapons of any kind are not permitted (guns, knives, swords, bats, etc.) in a manner that is not in alignment with District Policy 5060.
- Costumes that may be potentially harmful to the educational or school environment.
In accordance with District Policy 5060, school administrators may ask students or participants to change into school-appropriate attire and/or remove masks, makeup, or costumes.
Please note that district and school leadership will re-evaluate guidelines each year and make adjustments as necessary to ensure a safe celebration for the entire school community.

Your input, combined with safety and collision data, will be used to create the Broomfield Transportation Safety Action Plan (BTSAP). The BTSAP will identify ways to improve safety on Broomfield’s multimodal transportation network and include both action steps and recommendations that aim to reduce crashes and serious injuries when traveling in Broomfield. The survey and map close on Oct. 1.
Join our School Accountability Committee!
The School Accountability Committee (SAC) is an opportunity for parents and community members to have a voice in the continuous school improvement process. This team of volunteers meets with one or more teacher representatives and the building administration throughout the year to review school data, discuss the school improvement plan, provide recommendations about spending priorities and promote parent and community engagement. Members of the team learn about the important work of the school and offer insight and feedback. For more information, visit the Adams 12 SAC Handbook.
Meetings will be virtual for the 2024-25 school year from 5:00-6:30pm. If you are interested in being a member, please fill out this form. We are always looking for new members.

RTD Zero Fare for Youth
Did you know that all children and teens ages 19 and under can take ride with RTD at no cost? This helps to reduce transportation costs for families and removes barriers to education and employment for those that need it. Students can access this program with a current school ID, but others in the family may also access it by showing one of the following to the bus operator or fare inspector: valid government-issued ID, alien registration/permanent resident card, Military ID/dependent card with DOB, RTD-issued youth special discount card. To request a RTD-issued youth special discount card please contact us at specialdiscount@rtd-denver.com.
Student ID Required to Board Bus
Student IDs are required for every high school student for every ride as school bus passes are incorporated into the student ID. Since all students are required to scan their bus pass for each ride, students without a student ID will not be allowed on the bus.
If students have lost their ID, they may visit Student Relations for a replacement ID. Students are given one free ID and allowed 2 free replacements for lost IDs. Subsequent replacements are $5. Fines are added to student accounts automatically.
Helpful Attendance Reminders
- Attendance calls go out twice a day: 10:30am and 4:30pm. If you call out your student prior to 10:30, please be aware you may still receive the 10:30am call if we haven't not had the chance to reach your original message in the queue. If you also receive a message at 4:30pm, please call and leave another message.
- If you know in advance that your student will be missing school, please have your student pick up a Request for Pre-Arranged Absence form from the Main Office or Student Relations.
- Attendance mistakes do happen, and if it happens to your student, please call the attendance line at 720-972-6313. They will walk you through the process for your student to get attendance corrected.
Student ID Cards
As per District Policy 5060.5.0 "All middle and high school students are required to carry on their person an unaltered school issued photo identification card (ID) during school hours, or at such times, locations, and activities specifically identified by the building principal; provided however, that the building principal shall have the discretion to impose a stricter requirement regarding student wearing of school issued photo ID cards based upon safety and/or related concerns."
For Mountain Range, your MINGA Id is also acceptable if it shown on your Chromebook or via the MINGA app. In an effort to keep our campus safe, we will be checking ID's on a more frequent basis to ensure students are where they are supposed to be. Thank you.

Reminders on the District’s Attendance Policy
Here are a few helpful reminders on the District’s Attendance Policy:
Absences need to be excused within 2 school days. This does not count the weekend.
Students may be excused for 5 days without a doctor's documentation. This includes vacations, “no reason given”, mental health day, family reasons, weather, and road conditions, along with other reasons. This year, the district has made an exception to allow absences for covid related symptoms. They do ask students to stay home if they are not feeling well. Therefore, these absences will be excused.
Remember that any time your student has a doctor’s appointment of any kind, have the doctor give them a note to excuse that absence. Have your student bring that note to the attendance clerk in Student Relations when they return to school.
Anytime you know in advance that your student will not be in attendance for 3 days or more, there is a “Request for Pre-arranged Absence” form. This may be picked up in Student Relations or the main office. This form is to be filled out by a guardian and signed. It is then taken around to all the teachers to sign and given to the main office staff. This form is then approved by an Assistant Principal and entered into Infinite Campus. These absences do not count toward the 5 days allowed without a doctor note.
To get your student out early, the call must be made to the early release line prior to 2:30 pm. We will not be able to get a student out of class for walk-up parents/guardians past 2:45 pm.
Call our attendance line at 720-972-6400 to leave a message 24 hours a day.
