Curriculum WOWs
- Shout out for Kelsey from Jennifer Muscarelli. "I would like to submit a shout out if I can. Kelsey F. did a fantastic story in the media for the Kindness Club. It was such a relevant story, presented in an engaging way and talked about real world issues. She did more in her 15 minutes than I did in the whole day. It was masterful." Thank you Kelsey for all that you do! I hate I missed it but am thankful you are behind the scenes doing amazing things! Thank you Jennifer tor the shout out!
- Modeling and Excitement for learning. Thank you Cassie for the modeling and direct instruction you provide students. They were so excited to learn the word --phenomenal and connect it to awesome! You ARE AWESOME!
- Parent outreach. Thank you for the time and effort you put into preparing for conferences. Tier paperwork was created and being carried out. Interventions in place. I am just so very proud of each of you.
- Letting students "do the work." In many situations I saw students being asked to apply their knowledge, problem solve or make sense of something independently or in small groups. It is crucial for students to do something--make mistakes so you can intervene and TEACH THEM! As long as we, as teachers, are in charge--we are doing the work. Mrs. Herman's class making sense of main idea with a cut apart activity, use of a graphic organizer to make sense of main idea ON THEIR OWN before teacher intervening in third grade and use of Edpuzzle in fifth grade. We want to show them but we must let them try first--that sets the purpose and the reason they need to listen.
- Integration of SS and technology with hyperdocs--great job 5th grade.
- Excited children about book and reading--thanks Jennifer for all you do to make the Book Fair so beautiful and fun!
- Problem solving and supporting students with big emotions and behavior--thanks Kelsey and Kasey for all you do to support these kiddos with encouragement--strategies and even a 504 when needed.
- Taking time to find resources and writing grants for our students! Thanks Andrea, Deby, Heather and all of you who got sponsors for books through scholastic. I know there are so many of you so I don't want to miss anyone--thank you for the time and effort you put in!!
- Encouragement to others--Thanks Emily for your basket of blessings and extra hugs for me this week. Thanks to all of you for lifting each other up--showing up Monday morning and most of all continuing to find positives within each other and our students. Thank you!
