A message from me...
Good afternoon!
Students and staff have been hard at work this week wrapping the 2nd quarter and preparing for semester exams. As we head into next week here are some helpful reminders:
- It is important to study but it is even more important to get a good nights sleep. Set a stopping point and get some rest.
- Since we are on an adjusted schedule, be sure to eat breakfast and bring some snacks.
- Do your best each day be consistent in your approach and mindset.
Finish in a strong and disciplined manner so you can enjoy that well deserved break!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mike
Semester Exams Dec. 17-20
At the end of the 1st semester students will participate in Semester Exams. This year exams will be on Dec. 17-20. We will be on an adjusted schedule to administer the exams. As you are preparing for winter break activities here are some guidelines that we will follow for exams:
- If your child is going to miss exam week for any reason, please contact our attendance office to do a pre-arranged absence.
- Neither students nor staff can reschedule an exam without administrator approval.
- Students leaving early for winter break will take exams WHEN THEY RETURN. We will run a make up exam schedule on Jan. 7-10 for students to complete any missed exams.
- Rescheduling exams for convenience is not permitted.
If you have specific questions, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Reminder: New Absence Reporting Tool Launching Soon
Don’t forget! After winter break, parents and guardians at Jerome High School, Eversole Run Middle School, and Abraham Depp Elementary can use the new Absence Request tool in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to quickly and efficiently report student absences.
This pilot program is part of our effort to make absence reporting easier for families and schools. If successful, we hope to roll it out district-wide.
Thank you for partnering with us as we test this new feature!

Match with scholarships in Common App
Last month, Common App announced that they partnered with the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) and Scholarship America to match students with scholarships through their Common App.
How do students match?
It’s simple! To get matched with scholarships:
- Students should complete their Common App tab, paying special attention to the profile, education, and activities sections.
- Students will be notified of scholarships they match with on their Financial Aid tab.
- Students can then explore their scholarship matches in the Scholarships section of their Financial Aid tab. For select opportunities, like the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship, students can complete the application directly within Common App. For most opportunities, students will need to apply on the provider’s external site.
ASVAB Testing
Our spring assessment will take place Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025. For details see below.
25-26 FAFSA is now live!
The 25-26 FAFSA is now live! The F in FAFSA means it is FREE. Make sure you are logging onto the correct website, fafsa.gov. There is not a charge to complete the FAFSA. Completing the FAFSA form allows your student to apply for federal student aid, such as grants, work-study, and loans. In addition, most states and colleges use information from the FAFSA form to award non federal aid. Make sure to check out the priority deadlines for Ohio Colleges.
OPERATIONS AND SAFETY
DCS released it Safety & Wellness Playbook recently in partnership with Dublin PD. I have linked it to the image for your review. It is a great resource and reminder.

DYA Volunteer Opportunity
Dublin Youth Athletics hosts an annual travel basketball tournament (Boys and Girls grades 4-6) each year in December. Dublin high school students have volunteered to work our concessions booth and work the admissions table over the years.
This year's tournament is December 13-15 at the five Dublin middle schools. This is a great opportunity for students to get some volunteer hours for their resume, support the Dublin community and to meet NHS requirements.
Sign up below if you are interested.

Foster Opportunity--Union County Humane Society
Please see the the flyer from Angela Walker at the Union County Humane Society. The shelter can be a very overwhelming place for an animal-especially when we are so over capacity. They would like to give animals a break from the shelter over the holiday season, whether it be a day out, an overnight, a weekend in a home, or longer.
Winter Sports is Underway!
Our winter sports programs have started their seasons. We encourage everyone to come out and support our student athletes. Want to follow along with their seasons? Here are some resources:
