January 31, 2025
Halfway Through the School Year
Dear CCPS Families,
We completed the second marking period yesterday. Thank you for your continued support of our students and schools. Please monitor your child's progress and contact teachers or school counselors with any questions or concerns about this grading period.
Additionally, we held the first meeting for our Fiscal Year 2026 budget on January 22. The next budget meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, at 10:00 AM in the Carver Center’s board room, and we encourage you to participate. Your feedback is invaluable as we plan for the future of our district and ensure we continue to meet the needs of our students.
We are also excited to announce that CCPS will host various musical performances and plays throughout the county over the next few months. These events will showcase the incredible talent of our secondary school students. The first performance kicks off today with Matilda Jr. at PVMS and Mamma Mia at EHS the following weekend. There will be many more productions throughout the coming weeks. We invite you to attend and support our students as they share their hard work and creativity.
Thank you again for your continued partnership in your child’s education. We look forward to an exciting and productive second half of the school year.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

Important Information
PowerSchool Breach Information
PowerSchool has engaged Experian to provide identity protection and credit monitoring services to current and former students and educators that had information exfiltrated from PowerSchool SIS. PowerSchool is doing this regardless of whether an individual’s Social Security Number was exfiltrated. In the coming weeks, Experian (on behalf of PowerSchool) will be distributing direct email notifications to involved individuals (or their parent/guardian, as applicable).
Additionally, PowerSchool has worked with Experian to set up a toll-free call center to answer any questions associated with these offerings and the incident. All the information regarding the activation of and access to these services will be included in the email sent to you by Experian. Whether or not you receive an email, you may also visit PowerSchool’s website to learn how to activate the offering from Experian, linked here: http://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/notice-of-united-states-data-breach/.
This website also contains additional information regarding the steps to secure your identity.

BrightPath: Our Students Pathway to Mental Health Resources and Services
Cecil County is proud to introduce BrightPath Cecil, a digital platform dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of Cecil County students. With a comprehensive library of self-guided resources and access to services available throughout the county, BrightPath empowers students and their parents/guardians to easily find the most appropriate support for their mental health, whenever needed.
- Grades 6 and Up: Students can independently explore BrightPath's tools and resources, tailored to their age range and needs.
- Grade 5 and Below: Younger students can only engage with the platform alongside a parent/guardian. A parent/guardian can also access it on their own to help support their child.
