Mr. Pappas Announcements
Dear Families,
One of the biggest questions we receive is how can you help at home with your child's reading and math. We have two programs for students to use that are individualized for each student at their levels. The first program is k-6 and is called MYPATH. 1st-6th grade students are currently using it in the classroom or as homework. The key is for students to complete and pass 2 lessons a day for a total of 10 in a week. By doing so it can excel their learning and help catch them up and move them beyond grade level. The second program is Amplify-k-6. This is also an individualized program that students due in class or for homework. To excel in Amplify it is suggested they do 15 minutes a day.
Both programs can be found in your child’s Chromebook in the clever APP.
KIndergarten parents-It is critical that our students are learning the letter names as fast as they can. There are many easy and quick ways you can support this at home. Start with the letters in their name. We want them to be able to recognize just the letter name at this time. Make flash cards, search cereal boxes or magazines for those letters. Practice everyday. Once they get their name letters then move on to 3 unknown ones until they get those.
NEW dress RULES FOR 24/25 school year.
1. No make up allowed to be brought to school. Students wmay wear make up to school as long as it doesn't cause a distraction to oneself or others but may not bring and make up to apply. (clear lip balm or chapsticks are allowed but may not be shared)
2. No crocs are allowed at school-As crocs are a comfy pair of shoes. we have had several incidents of them causing safety issues. If a student has crocs on they will be asked to call home for regular shoes.
3. No Pajama bottoms allowed. As part of our goal of creating professional students here at Julia Morgan we are asking that students not wear Pajama bottoms to school unless it is a designated spirit day.
As we are heading into warmer weather please make sure all students are adhereing to our clothing policy...

PBIS Moment
Social media is causing major issues with some of our students at school. As all of the social media sights are for children 13 and older, we highly encourage parents to remove their children from these apps until they are of age. We also recommend that if you allow your child to have an account to please monitor daily.
Attendance
Please make sure to call in your absences to Mrs. Veronica or Mrs. Joyce as soon as possible.
Did you know that if your child has missed more than 8 days so far this year they are considered chronically absent? The effects on chronically absent students are major. Please make sure your child is attending school.
