Redistricting: Creating a Long-Term Plan for Excellence and Equity in Education
Hello West Seneca Families,
Today, we write you to provide transparency as to what work was done at our "Redistricting Committee Meeting" this past Thursday, November 21st. The following sections will provide you with the links as buttons, to click on at your leisure. We have also included a section at the bottom with helpful links that include a "FAQ" section based upon questions we have received, as well as a link to read Superintendent Krueger's column from the November edition of the West Seneca Bee in regards to this process.
As we embark on the Thanksgiving recess tomorrow, we would also like to extend warm wishes for you and your families during this time. We are grateful for such an amazing community.
Thank you for your time.
Redistricting Committee Meeting - 11/21/2024
The Redistricting Committee had their meeting on 11/21/24. The committee previously asked for the Board of Education to create a set of guidelines, per se, for them. The committee facilitator, Tony Day, took that to the Board of Education meeting on November 12th. He then drafted up guidelines/priorities with the Board of Education and brought that to this meeting for the committee.
The committee reviewed the aforementioned guidelines/priorities of the Board of Education in small groups and then ultimately as a whole. The committee then continued discussions on capacity issues and looked at key components of possible options in various different ways.
Below you will find the buttons that link you to the meeting agenda, the presentation that was used during the meeting, as well as the meeting minutes. We will be sending these out after every committee meeting. You can also find them on the Redistricting portion of our website.
Questions?
We encourage your questions* regarding redistricting and would like to continue building a FAQ on our website that is updated as questions come to us during the course of our redistricting process. As such, we have designated a district email address for you to send those to. We will not be answering those questions via email, they will be posed and answered on our FAQ. (We welcome constructive feedback to the following email as well.)
