Morning Car Line
Our lines are longer this year due to a significant increase in cars utilizing drop off. If you want to avoid the longer car line, plan to drop off from 7:30-7:40 am.
YOU can help make the line move quicker in the following ways:
- Say your goodbyes at home or in the car line as you wait to get to the curb.
- Have your child unbuckle as you near the unloading curb zone.
- Pull as far forward as possible without leaving large gaps between cars.
- The parent should stay in the car. Staff will spread out to help with kids if needed.
- Students should be ready to quickly exit the vehicle.
- Pull away as quickly and safely as possible once unloaded.
- If your child is having a difficult day exiting the vehicle, please pull forward to the bell tower area and unload from there.
- Please patient as we do have young learners learning to exit car seats, open heavy doors, and get them shut as quickly as they can!

Handbook Highlights
Personal Convenience Forms - Family Vacations
Family vacations taken during the school days of attendance are discouraged. It is impossible for a student to make up all the instruction given by teachers during the missed class time. If a vacation must be taken during attendance days, parents are required to complete a Personal Convenience Absence form one week prior to the absence (not involving illness or funerals). This form can be obtained in the school office or SMS website. Teachers will not give work in advance for vacations. Teachers will issue a record of assignments missed upon return from vacation. Students will have as many days as they were absent to turn in work unless other arrangements are made with the teacher.
The 2024 - 2025 Parent/Student Handbook is on Final Forms and on our school website. Please be sure it is read and understood.
Gym Dress Code
Grades K-5:
Some students are still wearing old SMS t-shirts on gym days. Please wait to wear a t-shirt until the new spirit wear shirts are in. For now K-5 students should wear their regular uniform top.
Picture Day
Picture Day is coming up on September 17! P3 students and those absent will be photographed on retake day in November.
Academy of Angel students will wear an outfit of their choice.
K-8 students wear their uniforms.
Paper order forms will be coming home soon. You can also order online at https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/87432HF. Order before Picture Day to receive free shipping to the school. .
