FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Parents & Families,
We’re just two weeks away from Thanksgiving break—this semester is flying by!
In case you missed it, our amazing LSRO Choir performed the National Anthem at the Dallas Trinity FC game on Saturday. They sounded incredible and did a wonderful job representing LSRO. We’re so proud of these talented students for taking on this special opportunity!
A big thank you to our Partners for Life for providing refreshments for our Veterans this morning. And a heartfelt thank you to all of our families' Veterans for your service to our country.
Next week, we're kicking off a pajama drive! We’re partnering with Scholastic to provide pajamas and books for children in need. Check below for details on how you can help make a difference.
Thank you for your continued support!

As the Weather Cools Off...
With the temperatures dropping, please make sure to label your child’s jackets and sweaters with their first and last name. This helps us quickly return items to students if they get left behind in classrooms or on the playground.
Staying Healthy During Cold and Flu Season
As we enter cold and flu season, here are a few tips to help keep everyone healthy:
- Handwashing: Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before meals and after using the restroom.
- Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Remind your child to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow to prevent the spread of germs.
- Stay Home When Sick: If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them at home to recover and help prevent spreading illness.
- Healthy Habits: Ensure your child is getting plenty of rest, staying active, and eating a balanced diet to support their immune system.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy and safe this season!
PAJAMA DRIVE
We are thrilled to share that our National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) is partnering with Scholastic for a wonderful cause: collecting pajamas and books for children in need. For every set of pajamas donated, Scholastic will generously provide a book to go with it, making this an extra special gift.
Our campus goal is to collect 500 sets of pajamas, and we need your help to make this happen! If we meet our goal, we’ll celebrate with a campus-wide pajama day for everyone!
Please consider donating and helping us make a difference. Thank you for your support!
LIFELEADERS OF THE MONTH
What’s your family’s favorite weekend activity?
- Mrs. Grey has made a major impact in my daughter's life. She really loves Mrs Grey for going above and beyond the call of duty. We appreciate how much she cares about her students.
We would like to recognize LSRO staff for all the amazing things that they do each day for our students. If you have someone that you would like to brag about, please fill out this form and we will share the Shout Outs through the weekly Thursday Exchange.

Life Habits
Every day we have Life Habits time that is focused on building social, emotional and behavioral skills. Each week we will post Life Habits conversation starters in our newsletter that are aligned with the Life Habits lessons from the week. We will also have signs in the pick up line for you to access the questions of the week. We hope you enjoy hearing about what your child is learning at school.
DEVELOPING LEADERS AT LSRO
Weekly I Will Statements
During morning announcements, we will focus on one LifeLeader Attribute each week and learn what we need to do to develop each attribute so that we can become effective leaders in our school and in our community. We encourage students and families to memorize these statements together and talk about how the attribute is exhibited at home, school and work. We will share the I Will statement in the weekly newsletter and on our campus Facebook page. We look forward to hearing how students are exhibiting the attributes at school and home. Click here to view all 15 LifeLeader attributes.
BREAKFAST & LUNCH
All households need to complete the Free and Reduced Price School Meal Application each school year, even if your child does not purchase school meals. The application is available throughout the school year and available to complete again should your family have a change in income or additional family members in the household.
Click here to view the breakfast and lunch menus.
Breakfast is served each day from 7:15-7:45.
