HFRCS Newsletter November 5, 2024
SY 2024-2025 Vol. 4 Issue 9
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On this momentous Election Day, we are grateful for the right to vote and remember all who came before us to provide us with this great privilege. God Bless America!
This afternoon and evening, and continuing through tomorrow and Thursday, our teachers are hosting parent-teacher conferences. This window of time with your child’s teacher is a great opportunity to discuss areas of strength and areas of concern. Our teachers are here to be partners with you in your child’s education. If you haven’t signed up for a time to conference with your child’s teacher, please reach out to them right away.
This Friday, our 8th graders will be presenting the Living Saints Museum. All students will get to visit the museum and speak to the “live” saints and hear their stories. This Friday will also be the start of our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Each year, we work to collect food and provide 40 full Thanksgiving meals to share with members in need in our parish and local communities. Your support of our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is greatly appreciated. Please see the list in this newsletter of what each grade is requested to donate.
Sometime during this month, our teachers at every level will be presenting Safe Environment lessons. Archdiocesan schools and parish religious education programs offer age-appropriate personal safety instruction twice a year, including internet safety. You can find information on these lessons here.
Last week we recognized students that exemplified our October virtue of studiousness. Please see this newsletter for their photos and recognition. Our virtue for November is humility, defined as accepting your limitations and God-given talents. Our teachers and staff will be looking for demonstrations of this virtue this month.
Hawk Walk 2024 will officially close this Friday, November 8. I want to thank everyone who has supported our Hawk Walk this year, and if you have yet to donate and would like to, you are able to do so until this Friday. We have currently raised $38,226. Thank you! As a result of meeting our school-wide goal, the Turkey Bowl, a faculty versus students flag football game, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 26. The faculty are three-time champs! Will this be the student’s year? Stay tuned.
We are raffling off a Meta Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headset. Please see this newsletter for a terrific commercial created by Mrs. Gallo and her students that explains what this VR headset can do! Chances are $1 and the raffle will be pulled on Tuesday, November 26.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
We are a family of FAITH!
Remember to go to Mass this weekend.

EITC is a tax credit program that allows individuals and businesses to direct their Pennsylvania state taxes to student scholarships at HFRCS. Participants receive a 90% tax credit for every dollar contributed. Students receive 100% of your tax credit gift and you receive a 90% tax credit. It’s a win-win!
