5th Grade Course Request
Greetings 5th Grade Families and Students of FAVE and Talley,
Beacon Hill Middle School is excited to welcome you, and we want to help you get ready for 6th grade. The first important part of that is setting up your schedule for next year. The information below provides support for you to help your child your child in requesting their ELA, Math, World Language, and connections courses for the school year.
Your child's school (Talley or Fave) will be supporting all students in this decision-making process as well. Classroom teachers will be facilitating a reflection process where students will review and complete student decision guides for Math and ELA courses. The completed student guide will be coming home once your student’s classroom teacher has completed the lesson with their class. Please review the decision guide with your student at home. In the coming weeks, students will also review BHMS Connections and World Language courses as well. BHMS support teams will be assisting in this process of learning more about Connections and World Language choices.
Once selections have been made by students in Infinite Campus, guardians will be able to view their child's selections, and verify in the parent portal of Infinite Campus. To learn more about courses offered at BHMS for 6th grade, please visit the connections website linked below and look through the BHMS Course descriptions which are also linked below. Students will be able to request two of the four connections courses for the next school year.
BHMS instructional coaches and admin staff will be hosting a webinar on Zoom Feb 6th at 6:30 for families. We will present information about courses and answer questions. If you have questions please submit them using the form below and a BHMS staff member will respond.
This guide is a helpful resource with resources and information about the upcoming course selection process. We look forward to welcoming your kids as our students to BHMS!
The selection window for students currently in 5th grade to request courses for 6th grade will be Feb. 10-14th. Please see the roadmap below for specific dates for your child.
