As we continue the Easter season—a time of renewal, hope, and joyful celebration—we are reminded of the promise of new life through Christ’s resurrection. It is a season that calls us to deepen our faith, embrace hope, and extend love to those around us.

This week, we also reflect on the passing of Pope Francis. His legacy of compassion, humility, and servant leadership continues to inspire our Catholic school community. He reminded us to see Christ in each person and to lead with mercy, justice, and joy. As a school, we strive to carry forward his example in how we learn, serve, and care for one another.

May this Easter season renew our hearts and strengthen our commitment to live out the values of our faith together.

Dear Parents,

Last Thursday we surprised Mr. Johnson with a special secret spirit day in his honor—students and staff showed up in style, rocking Hawaiian shirts to match his signature look!

It was a joyful and heartfelt way to say goodbye and celebrate his last day at OLPH.

Thank you, Mr. Johnson, for the laughter, leadership, and aloha spirit you brought to our school. You’ll be missed! Did you get a picture with Mr.Johnson on his last day? If yes, send them in!

Our French Immersion students and staff had a fantastic time yesterday, April 23, 2025, celebrating la Journée nationale de l’immersion française! We especially enjoyed the engaging performance from L’UniThéâtre – une journée remplie de fierté, de plaisir et d’Immersion!

EICS recognizes nutrition as an essential element of student and staff wellness, and acknowledges its role in optimal growth and development. We are committed to creating nutrition environments in schools that are supportive of learning and growth.

Here at OLPH, we have food baskets in the office to provide additional snacks and fresh fruit to students, and have recently started a taste testing experience of fava bean, chickpea, and lentil snacks!

Our goal is to expose students to a variety of food for those interested, with the goal of making nutritious foods available, visible, and affordable to students.

Dear Parents and Students,

Now that the weather is beautiful and perfect for biking, we want to remind all students who ride their bikes to school to make sure you securely lock your bike at the designated bike racks.

All helmets are to be stored in the students locker.

Dear École OLPH Families,

Based on changes to the field trip guidelines, all parents will be required to sign the OLPH Track & Field Informed Consent form on PowerSchool prior to their child participating in Track and Field Day on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Below are the instructions on where to locate the above-mentioned form in PowerSchool. A form must be complete for each student at École OLPH.

If you have any questions regarding the form please email olph@eics.ab.ca. If you require help with your PowerSchool account, please contact Mme Winland at 780-467-5631.

How to Complete the OLPH Track & Field Informed Consent Form

• Log in to PowerSchool
• Click on your child’s name
• Click on Forms and Fees
• Click on Student Fees
• When the new window opens, click on your child’s name
• Scroll down to the bottom of the page
• Click on Consent Forms
• Click on the “OLPH Track & Field Informed Consent” picture
• Complete the requested information
• Click Submit
• Repeat the above steps if you have more than one child at École OLPH Catholic School

The tickets for Performing Arts students are available now for purchase via PowerSchool (see instructions below). On Tuesday, April 22nd at 9:30 a.m. tickets for the rest of the OLPH community will be available for purchase via PowerSchool. ("How to Purchase" instruction below)
