Term 1 Week 10 Monday 7th April 2025
Principals Message
Kia ora e te whānau,
What a great term we have had! It has been jam-packed with fantastic learning and activities.
On the 28th of March, this continued with our Year 7–8 students participating in a Growing Futures event at Mangakahia Area School. Attending the event is part of learning about careers and future pathways through education and beyond. The students enjoyed the day mixing with their peers from other schools.
Triathlon
Our triathlon was also another day where our students showed their grit and determination while reflecting the school values. We are very proud of their efforts, and it is always fantastic to see the pride and relief as they cross the finish line. We again saw the benefit of our new car park with plenty of space for everyone to drop off and pick up bikes and the like.
Camp
This week we have Room 4 heading off to camp at Mangawhai. It looks like a great week and the weather is still going to play ball! A big thank you to Cindy Stafford for organising this and to the parents that will be going along to help. We look forward to hearing about the fun things they get up to when they get back.
Property
Over the holiday break we have more property work with the trampoline and sandpit being put back into place. This is one part of our recent property works that the students have been begging for!! So if you are using the school grounds over the break, please be mindful of the area the contractors will be working in.
Garden Group
As you will notice, there is a lot of tidy-up of the grounds to do after the car park project.
If you are interested in being part of a school gardens group to help redo our gardens and plant out areas affected by the car park earthworks, please let us know and we will start working on this next term.
Unfortunately, due to staffing complications and the challenges finding relief teachers, I have had to postpone my principal’s sabbatical until Term Three.
