Hello Husky Community,
Our school year is in full swing. Our students have been learning the Husky Way and showing lots of smiles. This year's motto for the school is "Together We Grow" and we already see progress. Here are some highlights since the opening of the year:
- PEEPS Program starts on Monday, August 21st! Soon our Husky Pups will be joining us daily, in the amazing new program for 3, 4 and 5 Pre-K students. We have a very limited ability to enroll a couple more, so don't wait to contact us.
- New Honors and High School Credit Tracks are filling up fast.
- Our students are enjoying the new OMA Program focus. Musical Theater, Guitar, Ballet Folkloric, Orchestra and Band starting for the 4th and 5th graders, Music classes for our K-3 and more!
- MS Huskies have a rich choice of electives: Spanish, Orchestra, Band, Musical Theater, Student Court, Student Leadership, Engineering, STEM with Horticulture focus, Yearbook and more.
- Feed the Children Program powered by The Tucson Family Food Project started and over 20 families went home with meal kits for the weekend.
- Interscholastic Sports is in full swing - Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Cross Country will be having their first games and meets this next week.
There is so much happening on campus, that I could not fit it all here - but wanted to share just a small smattering of excitement on campus.
Stop in the office and say Hello anytime, and share your goals for the year. We are here to get our Husky's the support they need to grow to the best they can be.

Meet our newest Husky Mariachi Teacher!
Mr. Ruben Moreno joins us at Safford to return music of the Mariachi to our campus. He is a well known and loved Mariachi teacher in the Tucson community. He has taught at Tucson High and Salpointe Catholic High School, bringing the joy of music and culture to the campus.
Mr. Moreno shared with us that his father came to Safford as a child. We are excited to have him come and teach our students to sing in Spanish, since when his father came to Safford he was hit when he spoke in his native language. It is an honor to have a musician of his fame to teach our Huskies.
