Dear Parents,
With our cold weather and flashes of snow, please make sure your child starts to come to school with all the necessary clothing to be outside. Boots, snowpants, hats, mittens, and warmer coats are important to keep your child warm in the mornings during the recess before school as well as their recess after lunch.
In order to ensure the safety of your child in the colder weather, and maximize their play time, we are going to have our teachers next week make sure their class is dressed for outside before coming to lunch. It is something we will try and see how it goes. Currently we have just two adults transitioning grade levels to recess, so the more hands on deck to make sure our kids are fully prepared to be outside feels like the right choice. We know our kids already do this for breakfast and have been okay, so I am confident we will be okay for lunch, but we will watch and adjust as needed.
Also, please remind your child to bring their clothes home each day! We will have multiple tables in the commons with our lost and found clothing. After conferences, any clothes and other items left will be going to the community closet! We want all of the clothes you bought for your children going back to you, so please take time to look through the rather large pile of items when you are here for conferences.
