Hamilton Avenue School Update
Diane Chiappetta Fox, Principal
September 13, 2024
Vol. 3 No. 5
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. As we conclude another week at Hamilton Avenue, I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of our school norm, Be Here. Being present and punctual is crucial for maximizing learning opportunities.
We warmly welcome students to the Cafetorium starting at 7:30 AM for breakfast. It is essential for students to report to their classrooms by 8:00 AM. Announcements begin at 8:15 AM sharp, and we want to ensure that instruction starts immediately afterward at 8:15 AM without any interruptions. Your cooperation in ensuring students arrive on time is greatly appreciated.
This week, we also took a moment to recognize September 11th with a moment of silence. Although this day might not be familiar to our students, it is a significant part of our history that has impacted many of us. It serves as a poignant reminder of community and resilience. As we transition from summer to autumn, this observance marks what I like to consider the fourth summer holiday and the official end of the season.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with our school community. We look forward to another productive week ahead.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Fox
Open House
Please allow our staff to welcome you into your childβs classroom!
You are cordially invited to attend the Hamilton Avenue Schoolβs annual OPEN HOUSE meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. This event is designed to foster a strong connection between home and school, allowing you to visit your child's classroom, meet teachers, and receive critical information about the instructional program.
Open House allows you to visit your childβs classroom, meet teachers, and receive critical information about the instructional program. Open House begins the relationship between home and school, and parents need to attend! Since the purpose of the Open House is to give general information to ALL parents, teachers cannot answer specific questions about your childβs progress. Such questions are best handled at parent/teacher conferences scheduled for December or another date, which you can arrange with the teacher. We would love to have our families in total attendance this year. We will be providing babysitting for those families that need it. Due to limited space, we ask that you use the babysitting service only if you cannot make other arrangements.
The schedule for Open House is as follows:
- 6:00 -6:30 p.m. Visits to Pre-K, Grades 3, 4, and 5 classroom visits
- 6:30 -7:00 p.m. P.E., ALP Art, Music, Library Learning Commons, ESL, World Languages, Reading, Math, Resource Rooms, and other Special Education staff.
- 7:00 β 7:30 p.m. Grades K, 1, and 2 classroom visits
PARKING
It is always tricky on this evening. PLEASE DO NOT create spaces in the lot or park in the fire lanes. Try to carpool or walk to school that evening.
During our Open House, high school student volunteers will be on hand to share information about voter registration and Early Voting, which begins on October 21. Please look for them just outside the main entrance upon arrival.
We hope that you will join us at Hamilton Avenue on September 19th.
