Working together; succeeding together. Working together; succeeding together.

As Treaty people, we take this moment to honor the lands of Treaties 4 and 6, and all they have provided to us and our families across many generations. These lands have long served as traditional meeting grounds, gathering places, and traveling routes for the Cree, Dene, Nakota, Dakota, Saulteaux, and Ojibway peoples since time immemorial. We also recognize these lands as the homeland of Métis Nation Eastern Region II.

We honor the ancestors whose footsteps have shaped these lands. We acknowledge that our use of these lands has come at a profound cost, including the impacts of colonialism and the residential school system. With this recognition, we commit to working together toward reconciliation and forging a path forward that honors the past and builds a better future for all.

Junior NBA 2025

This weekend, the Jr. NBA teams travelled to Melfort to compete in the annual Jr. NBA tournament. It was great to see how much the athletes improved since the beginning of the year and it was fun to watch as they improved each game. We are thankful for some of our 3/4 girls who were able to help out the boys' team as they were a bit short on Saturday. Thanks as well to Alicia Curle who manned the bench a couple of times, while Mr. Mielke had to be away. Thanks to Mr. Harbor who helped out with one of the 5/6 girls' teams as well. Huge, huge shout out to the student coaches (AS, LM, DT) who helped out as well. The program would not have been possible without their help. Thanks as well to gold medalist, JR Antazo, who lent his wisdom to the 5/6 boys team on Saturday. It was a busy, but amazing weekend.

Stay tuned for information on our home tournament May 3 and 4.

Cordwood 2025

On Friday the grade 4-9s went to the rink for our annual cordwood spiel. The 4-6s went in the morning and the 7-9s went in the afternoon, with overlap for lunch. It was an awesome day, and I think everyone had a blast.

Thank to Chase Place Arena for allowing us to bring the kids down.

Thank you to Antonie, Shari, Megan, Jayme, Stacey and Blaire for helping out in the kitchen. You kept the kids well fed.

Volunteer of the Month

Carter Lupuliak

"I don’t like Carter", said nobody EVER. Always a hello, how are you?, positive attitude and willing to help out where needed. Carter has volunteered many hours in PE as well as in the canteen at Basketball events. His personality is fun to be around and often attracts others to come into the canteen and just hang around and talk. Carter, thank you for all of your help over the years, we will miss you.

Athletes of the Month

Athlete for the month of March goes to Emma Young. Emma is on the Jr. Badminton team and has taken a keen interest in the sport. Emma always has a smile and is accepting of feedback to get better. She is also the first to help out others around her if she feels she can assist them with something. Thanks for being awesome Emma.

Gavin Henry is a lock for this month's Athlete. Gavin came into March red hot and lead the Bears in 3pt percentage. His calm quiet demeaner on the court should not be taken lightly as he can sting the opponents and rack up points in a hurry if overlooked. Gavin uses his game sense to take advantage and beat his opponents to the rack once they over play his shooting. Gavin has another year with the Bears and we are looking for him to step into a leadership role and as a next year grade 12.

Looking for Coaches

Bears Athletics is looking for track and field coaches for the upcoming season. Please contact the school if your would be interested in helping out.

Check Your Punch Card Balance

We have had a significant punch card update.

In the past, as we got new accounts we simply added them to the bottom of the list so that our families would not have to relearn their place in the list of accounts. That has become very difficulty to manage. As a result, we have alphabetized the list on our end and updated account numbers to reflect your child's current grade followed by the last 4 digits of your phone number (i.e. 113213, grade 11 phone number ends in 3213).

Punch cards have been updated to the most recent values heading into semester 2. Please let us know if there is an error.
